A larger hole than the normal typical punches and a deeper throat so can put a hole further from the edge. I purchased this to recycle soda case cardboard boxes into yarn or cord holders for tablet weaving. I had to make an alignment jig from some recycled shipping box cardboard to get the corner holes properly aligned, but after that, it is easy to put a trimmed square into the jig and punch for perfect holes.This is more a handheld trigger specialty punch. It has been easy to use and reliable. Just be aware that you may have to do further work to get the results in placement that you desire.Best at punching card stock at 65-90 pound. Works fairly well on thin cardboard soda sleeves, punch one layer at a time. Copy/printer paper of 20-24 pound is a bit thin. You can try two layers at a time but i don’t recommend.Compared to similar trigger punches, this isn’t much different to operate. If making hundreds of holes at a sitting you may have sore hand parts the next day, but using any kind of punch like this will do that. I usually punch 8-12 cards (32-48 holes) then take a break and come back later to another batch. Durable, has stayed sharp, has been worth the investment.

I was worried about using a hand punch because of the arthritis throughout my hands and fingers but no problem with this one. I like the looks of it and it has punched through my cardstock easily. It has a little chamber for collecting the circles and easy to dispose of them. It was a little pricier than I expected but great quality.

The 2" reach was perfect for my project and I love that it catches the punched-out pieces, so they don't end up everywhere.

I love this thing. It punches thru cardboard like I've never seen, with a quick squeeze of the hand. No problem punching thru several thicknesses of paper. Thanks for a great product.

Easily punches a high quality hole with no tears around the edges. Grip fits comfortably in your hand, and feels great to use!

Purchased this item in October. Used once or twice; it worked. 3 months later tried to use the hole punch, but it no longer works. The hole punch is quite heavy leading you to believe it would work for a long time. Sadly that is not the case. I would not recommend buying this product.

I needed a hole puncher that could reach further than a standard one-hole hole puncher.THIS WORKED GREAT!This hole puncher punched through 2 layers of thin cardboard that was glued together for a project. For reference, I used the thin packaging cardboard box that held our 20 packs of Cheez-Its and the packaging that held our 10 packs of apple sauce.It also reached the middle of a cardstock circle that was 2.5 inches in diameter.I'M ONLY GIVING 4 STARS BECAUSE.....After using it 5-10 times, the hole puncher was full. One needs to empty it frequently during use.The metal sliding lid part that holds the remaining confetti-like pieces inside the hole puncher got jammed. I had to use a flat head screwdriver and some force to pry it apart.Otherwise, this hole puncher worked great for my needs.

The punch works well. Punches fine. BUT I found it very hard to place a hole accurately, as I found no marks on punch to limit depth of reach or a way to center the hole on the item to be punched.I suppose it could be used to create confetti.
