The speaker ground wire and the microphone ground wire are wired separately. And they are combined at the USB-C port. This headset adapter is great for connecting ONE dual-plug gaming headset (with separate 3.5mm TRS audio and microphone plugs), to connect to an audio+mic combo-jack USB-C device. Eg: USB-C Smartphone, iPad, Laptop, or Nintendo Switch to a double-plug gaming headset.
