It works, but the leads were labelled wrongly.
It took me a while to realise that the "mic" and "spkr" leads were labelled the wrong way round. Otherwise, on day 1, it works fine.

Does just what it says!
I don't normally do reviews, but after many frustrating trials at using an external microphone and headphones with my Android HTC M9, this did it! I've tried a number of other similar adapters and none of them worked as the wiring is different in each, but they all look the same.Things to note: - both the mic and headphone sockets on the adapter are trs (tip, ring, sleeve)- I've tried it with a lavelier trrs mic designed to use directly into the phone's headset/headphone socket, but unsurprisingly it doesn't work with the adapter. I'm guessing that if you buy any inexpensive lavier with trs it will work perfectly. I've been using a consender mic with trs and it's great.- you'll need the right software to be able to record and monitor at the same time. I use Audio Evolution and it's perfect.

It just works
This is a day 1 review, so may be amended. I’ve been struggling to record audio on an iPad. I read that the headphone socket doubles as a mic input. With this lead it does! I’ve tried 2 other leads that just didn’t work, despite being trs to trrs cables. I’d nearly given up, but this lead just works. Now I can record using the voices on my synth, rather than the limited voices in Cubasis. In other words, audio recording via the headphone socket. Very very good.

Very good for six months
This wire was used with a Sony Mic plugged into my phone with an app. It worked perfectly fine until recently when one of the wire broke in the connector. If you buy it, it is worth getting some Sugru to stregthen the area the wires meet the connectors.

Faulty
Unfortunately this item doesn’t work. The audio cuts and only works when I plug in the Jack half way so it seems this is a faulty item. If you could send another one that would be great, or we will return and ask for a refund. and I’m unable to contact the seller directly for some reason
