When you have teenagers, they tend to stop talking to you as much as they used to when they were little. They stop laughing at all of your jokes and they respond to questions in monosyllabic grunts and groans. "How was school," you ask. "Ehh..." they say. You get the idea. People say this will change. I'm hopeful.I took my 16 year old son to the drive-in movies this summer up in Vermont. A little "guys trip" you know? I let him go to the old school snack stand and pick all the trashy food he wanted. I think he got popcorn, some m&ms, a Coke and these weird fried pizza rolls that were actually pretty good. He let me have ONE.We drove my 2012 Camry to this drive-in, however the last time we were there, we had driven our bigger SUV. So there was some adjustment that we needed to do to be able to see the screen. I rocked my seat back almost all the way so I was sort of lounging and I could see the whole screen through the windshield. When my 16 year old rocked his seat back, he needed to bring it back up a little, but those little handle things that you use to adjust the seat are tricky sometimes and I think this kid is used to the electronic buttons that are in most of today's cars. He was having trouble getting it to go back up. "Just lean forward a bit and then pull the handle up," I explained to him. He couldn't do it. He tried and tried... then I just sort of lost my temper and said, "Okay, I'll do it for ya!" I hopped out of the car and went around to his side and yanked the door open as hard as I could because I was tired and wanted to eat my pizza roll for god's sake. The handle literally came off in my hand. (See picture.)Perfectly on cue, the kid's seat goes up and he's successful without my help. And there I am holding the stupid handle that I ripped off my car. I presented it to him and he sort of gasped, but also gave me a deserving laugh. I threw the handle into the back seat and declared that we'll deal with this later. Then we watched a very poor movie that Disney released called "Haunted Mansion." As far as I could tell, Haunted Mansion was for little kids... not grumpy dads or 16 year old boys. But hey, drive-in, you know?When we got home, I told the wife and other two kids the INSANE story of how the boy was so angry because his pizza rolls were cold that he RIPPED the door handle off with his bare hands! They were so surprised. But of course, I didn't get away with that lie at all! My 16 year old immediately said, "Don't listen to him. He's lying. He ripped that door handle off because he was mad. Not my fault." Honest to goodness, that was the most he spoke all summer. I had a tear in my eye! Haunted Mansion brought us together!When I found the ZXMOTO Exterior Door Handle Fit for Camrys 2012-2017, I was ecstatic. What a cheap price and you get four of them! A great deal honestly. I immediately bought them on Amazon and turned to YouTube to look at some install videos. Man, there was a 25 minute video that scared the crap out of me! This guy was taking off the entire interior door panel in order to do this job! Luckily, there was an auto body shop in town where we live that said they could do the job for me easily. Sure enough, when I brought in the Camry, the mechanic said he didn't think it would take him very long. But he kind of laughed at me and said, "You bought black handles. Your car is silver... Do you want me to change all of them so each handle is uniform?" I thought for a minute, then asked, "Well... will that cost me more?" And he said yes, it'll definitely will take more time and money. So I said, "Look man, I think we'll just go with the one because this black handle will serve as a good memory for my son, who ripped the original handle off in a supreme rage. He will always look at the black handle and remember the time he lost his temper. Let's call it a 'Trophy For His Temper.'"The mechanic laughed a little and said, "Well if he's capable of ripping the door handle off, I'd maybe go easy on him. Sounds like a tough kid." I never felt more proud. Now I have three more of these handles in the trunk of my Camry so I'm ready to go if my 14 year old pulls the same stunt next summer.

Could not use this handle. It did not match with my 2012 Toyota Camry handle on the back door drivers side. Had to order through the dealership in town. So disappointed.
