I found this so easy to use and it did exactly the job I wanted.

I use this product to move photographs from my cameras to my PC. It is fast and easy to use and represents good value for money.

I bought a new camera recently which takes SD cards. My old camera used CF cards, and I thought with this camera that I'd use a card reader instead of connecting a cable to the camera. I'll be keeping the reader in the camera bag so I didn't want one which reads a multitude of cards that I don't use, or uses a cable --- I want to keep size down. I also didn't want a reader which would block neighbouring ports. The USB 3.0 ports on the front of my computer are on the left, and when I use this reader the cards project to the left and so don't cover anything. (Note that the direction that the cards project will be determined by the direction the reader is inserted into your port, so they may project to the right on your computer.) This is so much neater than using a cable, more compact for my camera bag, and faster too!Something else I liked was the packaging. It comes in a little cardboard box, which is a much nicer way to receive your product and is opened easily.Reasons for knocking a star off: the lanyard hole is so small as to be almost useless. If I happen to get a thin piece of ribbon sometime, I might try and tie it on to prevent me losing the reader (the reader is black). Also the (black) cap doesn't fit onto the end of the reader when it's inserted into the port, so the odds are that it will quickly get lost.Note that the product image is out of date. Amazingly fast delivery. Ordered Friday 13th March from Macro Supplier, received Monday 16th march, long before estimated delivery date. This was to replace a fujifilm USB2 card reader which stopped working after I accidentally removed the SD card while the reader was still plugged in to the computer (but had been unmounted).I've tested the new reader on linux, using both USB2 and USB3 ports and it seems to work perfectly, using two different SD cards, one used on a linux laptop and one used in a Fujifilm camera.I have not done any speed tests.The printed card that came with the reader claims that it supports 'hot swapping' but I have not tested that. So I hope it will last longer than the Fujifilm reader.Added: 17-03-2015This device is very slim -- no thicker than a usb plug. So it will not block an adjacent usb socket.

A very good value, simple little SD card reader at a good price, especially for usb3. It read the SD card flawlessly, but had more problems with the microSD card, but does seem to work. As they normally come with caddies, it is no real problem, will try it some more and maybe revise star rating

I am very pleased with this. My Sony Vaio laptop would not recognise my Samsung DV300F camera when trying to download the photos. This was really frustrating and I had given up using the camera and had been using my smartphone camera all the time. With summer hols coming up I decided I must start using the camera again and determined to find a way of downloading the photos to my laptop, I bought one of these USB sticks and it works a dream. Easy to use and fast. Very happy to recommend it!

Bought this as my built in SD card reader on my HP PC refuses to work since upgrading to Windows 10. Pretty sure I am not alone after Googling a fix for it!I am so glad I did rather than waste more hours trying to sort that out because this tiny device being USB 3 delivers photographs to the computer so much quicker than the SD reader ever did. Should have bought one ages ago. Highly recommend if you have a similar issue with Win 10.All this for under £6.00 too.
