First of all, let me say that I am NOT a hairdresser; I am a retired secretary with a husband who needs his hair cutting.When lockdown kicked in he began to look a lot like Tarzan and I tracked down a pair of "hairdressing scissors" which were used once a month for almost 2 years before they just 'died' and I've no idea why.I chose these simply because they are 5.5 and I have small hands - no other reason.What I didn't know was that the finger rest (?) could go either way. I'd used it for my 3rd finger right hand (which I'd done with my old scissors) and struggled to get husband's hair to cut neatly.PS: I've used these twice now and find deep ridges emerging on my thumb. I realise now that there is NO rubber inside the rings. Is this normal I wonder: Now seeking another pair..

Not as sharp as described...Cut is not so clean as described. I will have to send them for sharpening...
