Jolly Phonics Magnetic Letters Toy – 1 Feb. 2011

My son is mad about spelling at the moment and we have, without doubt had our money's worth. It's great that some are stuck together such as the 'sh' and 'qu' as it really makes him think about using the letters to spell different words. They are all lower case but that's fine and it's great that the vowels are blue and the continents are red as it just adds to the learning. Can't go wrong with these for the price.

Just bought these for my 3 year old daughter who has recently started showing an interest in letters and words. I have the jolly phonics music cd and book so these letter really help her to connect the two and recognise the letters and sounds. A great set with duplicate letters all in lowercase, by far the best set I've seen.

Bought this for my 4 year old who has just started school.Many schools now teach using 'jolly phonics' so thought this would be useful to have.Letters are a good size and contain single characters and letters joined which helps him when he is trying to spell words and with them being magnetic they just live on our fridge so don't get forgotten.

I bought this based on reviews, it is excellent and my son uses them as part of a variation of reading/writing resources.Why the 4, the plastic bottle is a bit poor the lid on mine doesn't close properly so everytime I pick up from the handle all the letters are strewn on the floor! My other criticism is a personal one, it has the lower case k in the unusual curly K (capital R with a stem format). My son does get confused with this, as he doesn't learn this so much at school.All in all a great product.

Thought these were well thought out letters and phonics although they need breaking down into a smaller quantity for young readers for whom a whole potful at once would be too much. Bought a cheap metal baking tray for use with this rather than pay out for anything more fancy. It's the colourful letters that make this and the grey background of the baking tray is just fine.

I purchased these alongside an A4 magnetic board to assist my 4 year old's educational development alongside schooling. These are great quality and very fun to work with. the magnets are powerful enough not to fall off the board. The only thing worth noting is that some of the letters e.g. 'g' can be quite confusing because the font style is typically different to what is taught to children at school. Very satisfied with the product and price.

I have a set of plastic letters which are wearing out. I bought these as a replacement. The vowels are blue and the consonants red, which is the opposite of the set I already have. 'Y' is both red and blue - great! I like the 'flick' on the 'd's and 'q's - they are helpful with children who confuse d \ b and p \ q - and the 'h's, 'l's, 'm's and'n's. There are also vowel combinations e.g.'ee' 'ea' etc but I'm not a fan of these. Could do with a smaller 'f' and more 's', 'g' and 'l'. There are lots of letters in the tub, but I prefer my old set, so these will go to my grand-daughter when she's old enough.

Excellent quality product that has lasted years. Great for those that work with Jolly Phonics as the digraphs come stuck together so theres no hunting around for the two sounds - vowels also come as a different colour which highlight to the children that they are different sometimes. Fab product would definitely recommend.
