Q: Is this able to be stowed in an overhead compartment in an airplane?

No It will probably not fit. If it did it would take the whole compartment. The front wheels do not reduce. The only thing that collapses is the handle from about where it joins the main body.

Q: Can you sit on the pad?

It is narrow and has a shape that works for the leg, it would be uncomfortable to ride sitted. I don’t recommend for that

Q: how wide are the front wheels like width and the back one also?

The front wheels are 15 3/4" wide center to center. The rear wheels are 7 3/8" wide center to center. Wheel diameter is 8". Hope this helps.

Q: My daughter is having surgery and needs one of these for school. She's 13 and 5'4... would this scooter work for her?

The knee scooter pad adjusts from 17" - 22" high. Crazy thought maybe measure from the ground to your daughter's bent knee. I'm 6'2" and have the pad adjusted to the 22" height and it works very well.
