The bottle was a little eye catching so I sprayed a little on a card, had a whiff as I walked out of the store and thought it was quite nice. I put the card in my pocket as there were no bins around and thought no more of it.Later that day I kept catching the scent. It had transferred to my hands, mobile phone and wallet as I had used the pocket. Later that evening I fished the card out and had another sniff. It was still noticeable, but not overpowering. The wife commented upon it and thought it rather manly. I had to buy it there and then!I read the experts scent notes on this and wonder what planet they are on. I have seen this advertised as \"bergamot and myrtle, succeeded in the heart by roasted coffee combined with gianduja cream, on a rich base created of cedar and precious leather. \"For one thing, I wouldn't know what bergamot, myrtle or gianduja were if they jumped up and bit me on the backside. So from reading it I wouldn't know if that was a good thing or bad!It is difficult for me to describe a scent as I am no expert. I get the woody cedar smell that the experts mention and I can also detect the leathery tones, which is what I particularly like. There is a very subtle hint of a new leather wallet or belt, but more of a spiciness to it. I am particularly fond of darker evening scents that are a little spicy and is just the ticket. The colognes I like are Hugo Boss Bottled Night, Gucci Guilty and Paco Rabanne Million and I would probably put this in the same range.One thing I find with a lot of colognes is that as the evening goes on I get accustomed to the scent and in error I tend to put more on than I need, thinking that the scent is weaker than it actually is. With this, I keep catching the scent on myself, so I can see that I am going to have to be careful because this could quickly become overpowering. I would say no more than 2-3 sprays - which is a fine mist.As colognes go, this one is a bit pricy compared to others in the same range, but there is better value in the 100ml bottle. The scent is harsh at first but settles into a sweet smell which I think resembles chocolate and coffee and lasts for a while.
