My listening experience has truly evolved. Upgraded from a £50 DAC to this one and my studio monitors are way better at producing sound, they used to be fatiguing now they're dreamy to listen to all day long.

I have owned a fair few DACs over the last 15 years and so far this is the nicest sounding and most resolving one I have tried, and that includes more expensive models. Compared to other DACs I have auditioned from for example Cambridge Audio, Arcam and Mytek, this one comes out on top. The DAC is very resolving indeed, like many Sabre based DACs, but unlike some competitors, the sometimes grating sharpness associated with ESS based chip DACs is tempered by a musicality and a slight warmth to the sound. Bass is full and rich, mids very detailed and engaging and the highs ever so slightly rolled off but very detailed. This is coupled with a good display, good remote and an attractive build quality. Just be aware that if placed in a system rack those impressive digital VU meters will be too small to see clearly, so don't buy it just because they look cool (unless using this in a desk setup)
