Double-bill of animated movies about a gang of prehistoric animals who become close friends. In 'Ice Age' (2002), the story begins at the dawn of the great ice age, when a group of three animals embark upon an epic journey. Sid the sloth, Manfred the mammal, and Diego the sabre-toothed tiger team up to help return a human baby to its father, and must risk life and limb as they traverse boiling lava pits and travel through dangerous ice caves to complete their mission. Along the way they also meet Scrat, a squirrel-rat determined to plant an acorn in a glacier. The film features the voices of John Leguizamo, Denis Leary and Jack Black. In 'Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown' (2006), Manny the woolly mammoth (voice of Ray Romano), Sid the sloth (Leguizamo), Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Leary), and the hapless prehistoric squirrel/rat known as Scrat (Chris Wedge) are back in this sequel to the popular 2002 film. Manny is ready to start a family, but nobody has seen another mammoth for a long time. In fact, Manny thinks he may be the last one. That is until he miraculously finds Ellie (Queen Latifah), the only female mammoth left in the world. The only problem being that they can't stand each other. Ellie comes with some excess baggage in the form of her two possum friends, Crash (Seann William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck), a couple of daredevil pranksters and cocky, loud-mouthed troublemakers. When a huge glacial dam holding off oceans of water is about to break, threatening the entire valley, the only chance of survival lies at the other end of the valley. So our three heroes, along with Ellie, Crash and Eddie, form the most unlikely family as they embark on a mission across an ever-changing, increasingly dangerous landscape.

Does what you would expect from a DVD
Pros - Great family film which is suitable for all ages, genders and will appeal to adults and children alike. I had seen both of these films before perchasing so knew what I was getting. If you enjoy annimations and light hearted fun (similar to the Shrek and Madagascar films) then these films will be perfect. As usual, the parcel arrived in time specified. The DVD's work (essential requiement :D) and the box and individual cases were in perfect condition (celephane wrapped).Cons - Like most box sets, there are very little special features. If you enjoy 'behind the scenes' videos and a more detailed look into how films are made then buying the DVDs individually is your best option. In this box set, DVD 1 has no extra features. DVD 2 has Audio Commentaries, a Scrat short movie, 1 interactive game and the Garfield 2 Trailer.

A Total Bargain !
I had already bought these films when first released for my boys who are now 10 & 12 ....they duly destroyed them ! So I got these at a fab price and my 4 yr old and 2yr old love them as do the rest of the family ...not easy with an age range from 2-39! Really funny and engaging films/cartoons and as a parent who usually leaves the room when a kids dvd goes on I found alot of the 'hidden' gags really funny. A definite classic of the future !

Get that nut boy!!!!
The first Ice Age was new and fresh and it was filled with comedy, especially the dodo's and let us not forget that little squirrel chasing that nut! I feel sorry for the little guy! But the idea was original and entertaining for all!The second Ice Age was good with slightly better animation, but lacked the attractiveness of the first movie. The comedy is still there, but that lovey dovey element has been added (not to an extent where it bothered me) but I felt that it was playing to the typical Hollywood stereotype... if you want to sell... you have to have romance! Not true! It was great to see that little squirrel still chasing after that nut!! This time he was really going for it... especially funny when he losses his cool and karatacizes anyone who dares touch that precious nut!!All in all, a good pack with great money value... recommended for the whole family!

Good Fun
Great DVD pack, good clean fun for all the family.Even though the Ice Age series films are now being shown on TV, we much prefer to watch them on DVD, as the picture quality is superb, and it is a pleasure to watch them without constant breaks for adverts. Was also very impressed with the delivery. Two days was some going, particularly given the amount of snow that was bringing the country to a standstill.

Ice Age Double Pack
These movies are great for kids, I shopped around and this was by far the best price to obtain the first two movies and I purchased the third one separately as it worked out much cheaper that way. The usual quick and free delivery from Amazon and of course pristine product/packaging etc.

Ice age
2 fantastic movies. The first is where Sid the sloth meets Manny the Mammoth as they try and escape the big freeze and come across a baby who they try and return to its family. loads of laughs for both adult and child. Also the second movie was not disappointing as many are. Just as funny as the first. Only problem we had was we sent them overseas to Australia and the DVD's will only work on one of their DVD players. If purchasing for overseas check they'll work first
