Item became warped, the layers separated and the core started melting out of the side with only one week of once daily use on induction hob. Claims to be made of a mixture of steel and aluminium but given they have melting points of ~1200 degrees and 660 degrees respectively this seems unlikely. Get a solid steel one instead.

I have an induction hob which means I have pans which worked on my old cooker, but not on my new one so thought I'd try this so I can use the old pans. The unit looks well built and sturdy. The induction rings do register it so it clearly works on an induction hob. I tested it quickly and it did heat up. Another thing to mention is, because it is so small it is impossible to get a regular size frying pan over it so it's not going to be useful for many pans which is a shame.

This looked a great idea to make use of my old pans that I had to give up when I got my induction hob, so I was sad when it did not live up to it’s promises. The diffuser does heat up when put on an induction hob, but due to the angle of the handle I can’t use it for any of my pans as it does not allow them to sit on the plate. I have a mini frying pan that does not sit on this properly and a wok that also tips off the plate (see photo’s). I have tried a normal shaped pan, but it only covers just over half the bottom of the pan, so the heat will not be distributed evenly. If this was designed a little differently with either a larger plate or the handle bracket was made differently then this could work properly, but as it is the only thing this would be good for is the coffee pot that is shown in the pictures on the product listing page, and the defrosting plate it also mentions.
