I ordered this Ball widemouthed Jars because they promised to hold 1 QT, when they arrived 2 Jars where broken due to being very badely packed for shipping, but also, they do not hold the QT as promised.It is MISLEADING to sell those Canning Jars as 1 QT!I NEED 1 QT, I would not have ordered them if I not wanted exact that size!!Sadly, I do not kow where in the UK I can get Ball Jars 1QT.

…just not a British one.Petra,You probably won't ever see this (I don't understand WHY Amazon quit allowing review responses - I don't recall seeing the facility being abused), but they ARE 1qt. An American pint is 20% smaller (25% if you work in floz) than a UK pint (yet the US wet/fluid ounce is 1.2ml LARGER - as the Yanks would say, go figure…) so anything using the pint as a base measure is going to be smaller, too…UK pint = 568ml/20flozUS pint = 473ml/16floz (US - but it's negligible)So a UK quart = 1,136ml/40flozAnd a US quart = 946ml/32USflozI hope that clarifies things a little; if you've an iDevice, I can thoroughly recommend a converter app called Unity - but it doesn't have a calculator (it's also iOS 7+ only). It does do quirky conversions, however - ever wanted to know how many elephants (African) weigh the same as a blue whale…? Or how many standard Coke bottles it'd take to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool…? There's an app called Convertr which is very good, but the best is by Cider Software (iOS 6.1+). Not only does it convert, it has a fully-functional dual display calculator (your calculation is displayed in small blue or yellow type (depending on theme) with the answer above in bold white. That's not all… if you pull down sharply on the screen, you'll reveal a 'tape' of your most recent calculations. The only fly is that the +/- button doesn't function as you'd expect; instead of reversing the sign, it appears to enclose the last part of your calculation in brackets.I wish I could contact you directly, because this will probably not post as it's not really a review per se, but I've no other means by which to try to get a message to you.Sarah X❤X

I am American and pressure can. I have been looking for wide mouth jars. Glad I found these on Amazon I bought a couple cases on another site. A couple tablespoons short is neither here or there. I can chilli with mince beef in the quart jars and it feeds the 2 of us just fine.

I'm sorry but paying 200% more for postage than I am for the product is ridiculous. I'm not buying the product because I'm being ripped off.
