Disney The Little Mermaid Deluxe Mermaid Ariel Doll with Iridescent Tail, Hair Jewelry Beads, and Doll Stand, HNF42

I bought this as a present for a little girl who loved it! The colours of the fish tail are vibrant and I like the shiny foil feature and comes in a colourful vibrant box. This is a gorgeous doll for any child to play with and I am glad I bought it!

I collected a lot of barbies in the 90s with my mum . I have a black mermaid but she wasn't made to be ariel . I called her Diana after my mum cause she had a blue streak in her hair ( mum's fav colour)I couldn't justify buying this doll too quickly or for too much haha, but black Friday came and I went for it and I wasn't disappointed.Personally she the best doll out of all the live action mermaid dolls made this year. She resembles hallie the most . She has legs so could be changed ( hate stiff legged barbies or clothes painted on ). She had: Eye lashes with real hair, jewellery in her locks and a crown and deluxe tail with a stunning design throughout.I'm no doll collector I've brought under 10 dolls since my 17th birthday hahah.( Except a few monster high dolls for my sel... my daughter who then realised hated dolls like I didn't know haha.)There wasn't that much access to different black barbies so I had a good collect but barbies been doing bits since 2010 so yea I've a few new era thick funky and educated new style barbies and ken, but Ariel brought out my child side. She reflected me inner child back to me and I'm go greatful that disney made her black .Thanks .A grown lil black girl

This doll is a stunning doll, however it's not worth the £50 price point. The hair gets easily tangled & other than making the doll different, there's no real reason for the plastic charms.The the top is cute but tail is a cheaper fabric with single layer printed fins( the tail is open at bottom allowing feet to poke out) & made of that papery material most playline dolls have, they don't even have anything covering the back other than a few layers of tuel which really doesn't help muchThe stand is nice but EXTREMELY difficult to position the doll on it & make the fins look right, it's also extremely prone to falling over as there isn't anything weighing it down at the bade. Honestly, for the price point you could easily just buy a disenystore singing Ariel doll (they are £31 & basically better level of quality & price).The reason I bought this one first was because I value things like poesability & actually sewn fashions in my dolls, which this one had all be it for an extortionate price.I think a reason it may be so high is due to fact Mattel are on a contract they don't get many of the proceedings made from selling dolls so they have to make certain changes to benefit them. If you want to buy the doll you should, but she isn't as great a quality as some older dolls probably are.I removed the crown, washed the hair & brushed it. It looks stunning but for price I'd be expecting more than a rail skirt
