Fronto is dead!
We see the last of Fronto is another magnificently written story. This book is worthy of all the books that came before it. I say goodbye to an old friend who has given me many hours of enjoyable entertainment, history, and time travel. But I will not say goodbye to the author. Well done Simon!

A marvelous yarn carefully intertwined with historical fact.
This was a terrific series of reading from book one through fifteen. I enjoyed them all.And I enjoyed also enjoyed the interesting historical analyses at the end of each book. These allowed me to see a new and original perspective on the fall of the Roman Republic and how much original thinking had to have gone into each part, just to make sense of the history. So, well done Simon!

Decent end to the series
Typical Fronto. Bullheaded. Loyal. Fierce. And a tyrannicide as it turns out. A bit short on action but a decent end to the series.

Caesar ave
What a great yarn! This series of books is well researched and supremely illuminates all the pertinent characters around Caesar . I’m sure it’s not a giveaway ,as Fronton always is steadfast, blunt but loyal ,and is there on the Ides . Mr Turney weaves a compelling storyline that ties up what is a cultural volcano that ultimately when all the as lands changes western society.

fitting end to a great series
It has been a great pleasure to follow Fronto in the 15 books in this series. This book closes the series in an excellent fashion. Read the series in order and you will greatly enjoy them all.

Too bad it is the last book of the series.
I read all 14 books twice. Enjoyed the journey with Fronto across the Roman expansion of the Republic. I liked the characters on both sides. Each new book was better than the previous one. The final one was entertaining even though the ending had to be predictable to a point. But you pulled it off. My wish is for a final book to usher in the beginnings of the Roman Empire.

Great story but "overtold"
I think the author of the previous 12 or so books in this series did a brilliant job, why I kept reading (and buying). But this one sadly was worth reading about one-third of each page for me.It was as though the pages had to be filled, a count had to be reached, thus so much irrelevant description of different streets and features in Rome that added nothing to the story, just so Caesar could be killee at the end of a book of length - that's how it felt
