Solid old school radio - a best buy
I got this to listen to college football games on AM and FM that now are on streaming services I don't want to pay for. I also listen to classical music on our very weak public service station. The tuning knob is stiff which makes it easy to fine tune stations. The volume is loud enough on low, so blasting it is possible. The sound is better than folks say - between surround sound and tinny - and better than a cell phone. Has a high/low tone switch. Has a plug for a headphone, antenna, and an AC adapter. Runs well on regular and rechargeable AA batteries. Light weight but stable rectangle shape with handle. Well packed. Terrific price point. So glad I said merry Christmas to me!

Best Reception of Any Radio I have ever had ...
I live in the rural Mojave Desert and radio is one of our few means of staying in touch with the outside world. Reception is a big issue for every electronic communication device out-here. Reception comes and goes like the rising, setting sun and blowing wind - but you can never predict its anticipated quality or quantity - regardless whether you are driving or in your home.I have no idea how this particular manufacturer did it over any other radio I have ever owned - but they did it. I am sorry to say, despite what our politicians want us to believe - Chinese product quality and engineering is the best money can buy. I can provide hundreds of examples - but not here, Amazon already thinks I talk too much.I bought one of these radios because my very expensive US brand C Crane radio died after 10 years - but never got very good reception anyway - so good ridding's.I originally saw this radio on another retailers site and decided to take a chance - besides it was the only available choice. To my "amazon-mazement" - the reception was perfect everywhere I tried it and continues to do so. The only other working radio I have is a 1941 desktop - which does well but is operated with "tubes", so it gets hot after a while of working. In order to make a long story even longer, after buying my first one, I loved it so much, and feared radios will soon become unavailable to buy, just like gasoline automobiles in California - I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE!!!!! Of courses by then the original other retailer no longer carried it (which enforced my fear of obsolesce). Luckily, good-old-Amazon carried it.

Great radio for the price.
I recently purchased this radio and was pleasantly surprised at its sensitivity on the am band. It receives weak AM signals better than radios I have that cost much more. However, this receiver isn't that great on FM. At this price, A solid radio, especially for AM listeners.

i-boxTone FM/AM Radio
The i-boxTone FM/AM radio, which arrived a few days ago, is a very good, simple radio. It has very good reception and a nice speaker sound, and I am very impressed with it. I personally recommend this radio if you want a simple radio that performs very well.

Don't buy this radio!
This radio is junk. I have had two of them and the volume control was defective on both.
