Disappointed. Doesn’t work. Won’t stay plugged j to phone. Feels cheap, and flimsy. Hard to open. Waste of time and money.

My job recently issued me a new laptop that is all USB C ports so none of my old USB A CAC readers would work without a dongle. Rather than add another something to carry around when I travel, I decided to slim down and replace those old, bulk readers with this one.It's small, light, and compact. One side folds open a lot easier than the other, which takes a little force. (I'm often scared I'm going to break it.) Once inserted, my smart card occasionally doesn't line up perfectly but usually with a little wiggling or removing and reinserting the card a time or two I get a good read.I have a few other smart card readers from this manufacturer and have never had any issue with them. I'm pretty sure they aren't phoning home to China!

I've tried installing the additional drives like the instructions say but it doesn't change anything. The red light indicator comes on when it's plugged in but does not actually read the card. The plastic sides under to make the card slots. The plastic is very delicate and thin.
