Pretty solid collection!
If you're like me and have grown up with the Metal Gear series, it's absolutely brilliant that the series as a whole is coming out on quite literally everything. Konami advertised basic ports and that's exactly what we got.Metal Gear 1/2 both look good. Emulated without any problems. Metal Gear Solid is a straight up ISO of the original. This means that it'll look and play exactly how it would when it came out. What's great about this especially is that Konami have also included the original PAL version as well as NTCS. MGS2/3 both play very well and look great. These are ports of the remasters that came out for the XBOX 360. They load considerably faster and still look really good. You'll see a lot of people complaining and review bombing this collecting. The truth is, this is not a bad product. Nowhere near it. Where people have problems is with their own unrealistic expectations and their entitlement that comes with it. Konami delivered EXACTLY what was advertised and it's a great product for that. Sure, it's a little over expensive but these games are fantastic and are well worth having in your collection.

Lazy Ports, Worth Playing
I'll start with my thoughts on the collection itself - it's extremely lazy, and according to Digital Foundry, in some places it looks WORSE than the back compat versions of the HD collection from 360. They're still at 720p, 60fps, and MGS1 especially looks blurrier than the PS1 version. So why the 4 star review? Even though I would rather recommend emulating at 4K or 2K on PC (for MGS1 you can even emulate them on Xbox if you're willing to learn how), it is understated how massive it is to have the convience to play these games on one package, and not everyone has a PC. Yes, 4K would be incredible (and my recommended way of playing), but the experiences in the collection are not downgrades from the original versions, just not improved as they should have been.If you have never played these games before, and you are not willing to emulate, this is still worth a buy. These games are excellent, and I'd also recommend playing the MSX games (at the very least play MG2, though the first MG is also a neat retro game).

MGS1
When I saw this in August I was so excited I pre-ordered it but received it today on the 24th of October and playing it for some hours I haven't enjoyed it as much as I would enjoyed it back when I was a teenager.

Not HD or Mastered
Buggy. Literally just an expensive port.
