Nice addition to my Primo Kamado

Initial quality is excellent. Perfect fit. With the Chargriller stone deflector mounted below, you can achieve the "double indirect" smoke that is virtually identical to the SloRoller outcome. This method is not possible in an Akorn (that I know of) without this rig. An inexpensive upgrade if you're not ready to make the leap to ceramic. Recommended.

First off, it's great to see more accessories for other types of more affordable grills on the market. The Akorn has been very versatile for the price and this opens up even more options. It fits nicely, but it is a complete replacement, it won't work with the Akorn deflector or normal grate. You also lose the upper warming tray option, but given it's own heat deflectors you can probably work around that if needed. I don't love that it sticks higher than the regular grate, but that does help with temp control, and there's many different setups you can have with this so I'm excited to try out some new things. The grate itself is ok, I wish it had a little better anchoring as it will slide around a little bit. Also, while it says "pizza" stones, do not use these for that, unless your pizza is small enough to just fit on one, you'll burn the middle with the seam there. I also have some questions about the durability of the stones, I put it next to the Akorn deflector and its a noticeable thickness difference, if you aren't controlling the fire well these things look like they might shatter. All in all though I like this, lots of control options to get just the right temps.

We have an Akorn Kamado smoker, so I was excited when I saw this BBQ Cooking Grate System Flexible Grilling Rack with Heat Deflector. Hubby used it twice and on the stone had a hairline crack which caused it to split in half. Contacted Seller who didn't do much for us :(

I tried this on my 7 year old Akorn Kamado. It's a big improvement on the OEM deflector stone and the OEM cast iron cooking grate. The set includes a rack that sits on the Akorn firebowl instead of on any of the Akorn's holder tabs, two half pizza stones and two half cooking grates. The photos show the different ways the set can be used: First, as a pizza stone close to the firebowl. Instead of doing this, for pizza I'd try the stones on top of the cooking grate in the top position. Next photos, direct grilling on the stainless grates in high and low positions. Fourth photo, indirect grilling using a stone half and a grate half. Fuel can easily be added to the fire, something that's much more difficult using the OEM deflector. I'd use a foil pan on top of the stone under the grate to catch drippings so they don't burn onto the stone. Final two photos: Trying to do two-level cooking using my replacement stainless grate (same size as the OEM cast iron grate) on top position with the half grates in lower position. That doesn't really work because the lid won't close by about an inch.Quality of the set seems very good. Grates are heavy stainless. The stones appear to be cordierite. They're not extremely thick - less than 1/2" - but certainly adequate for deflectors if a little lightweight for pizza. Overall a great product that solves a couple of the Akorn's design and durability problems.

I use this for campfire cooking. Metal parts are gauged large enough to last many seasons. Nothing weak about this set.

I ordered this because a buddy has one for his Char-Griller Auto Kamado and said I needed to get one.First off, it fits perfectly in the Auto Kamado once you remove the grill grate and heat deflector. Second, the grill grates are stainless and much easier to clean than the Char-Griller stock cast iron grate. Third, the ability to adjust it in a variety of configurations makes this a must have accessory for any Kamado.The construction is very well done and feels well made. The fit and finish is very good.I like having the ability to use the stone halves in the lower and upper positions. You can use them as a heat deflector or a cooking stone... I like options.This is an amazing buy and a must have.

I had just got a fire pit and it looked like this was the same size and thought this would be great as an add on to enhance the fire pit experience.
