Fantastic Product. Easy to Fit.
A perfect dog guard. I researched all gates before buying this. It meets my needs perfectly. It can be fitted on any surface at any angle. Very easy to operate. You press a button and switch and this then allows you to pull the fabric across and clip it in. The gate then locks (we don't need this as our dog is not smart enough yet to open this lock!). You can open the gate briefly to walk through without retracting. This makes it practical if you need to do this often. It looks smart and is unobtrusive compared to other metal gates (see photos). Very easy to fit. Two templates are provided and the instructions are clear. Took ten mins to get it fitted. If your dog is a locksmith/escape artist/high hurdler/Steve McQueen then they will probably escape. If they are then I would recommend some training. If not then this gate will be perfect for them and you.

Brilliant alternative to baby gates
Works brilliantly at the bottom of our stairs; there are things either side which can't be covered by a door-style gate. The post at the side is quite un-obtrusive. The mechanism is really easy to use one-handed. It seems very robust and solid, like it will withstand a lot of use. Also, its very quiet; I hated the noise that the wooden door-style gates make when my little girl stands and rattles them and also when clunking the lock in place. This gate is almost silent, other than the noise from the ratchet. The only thing I would change is the colour; although ours is new, the bright white would, I imagine, get quite dirty and dusty over time and may start to look old. A darker grey option would be better. Other than that I think this is a great buy and also much better value than the Lascal gates which are similar and twice the price. When our other baby gates need replacing I will be swapping them all for this one.

Great Gate for children and big dogs but would not recommend for puppies or smaller breeds
This is a great gate if you are looking for something that hides away nicely. It blends in well and looks the part. The locking mechanism works well and the retracting is smooth with no problems. We bought it to be installed at the bottom of our stairs to stop our dog coming upstairs. This was successful until he realised that he could squeeze himself underneath the gate. As it is made from fabric it does have a bit of give and with a bit of struggling he is soon underneath and on the other side.We also needed to buy the additional spacers as we had skirting at the bottom which pushes the fitting brackets out leaving a gap at the top that needs the spacers.Overall this is a great gate and is perfect for children or bigger dogs but i wouldn't recommend it for puppies or small breed. We have two cocker spaniels. The older 3 year old can't get through but the 6 months old pup wriggles his way through.

Great looking
Great, smart looking child safety gate.Would be no good for keeping pets in though, as would scratch and tear easily with claws.Fitting instructions easy to follow, but I recommend two people to hold template and marking up.We needed to add, and paint, a little extra piece of wood behind the top fitting, to wall, (as shown on photo)as the bottom sticking out skirting board affect the fitting. We also added No Nails glue when screwing into wall, for extra strength!!Look really smart, and grandchildren not figured out how to open yet!!(Mind you, even adults can’t figure it out, unless shown!!)

Quickly Broken!!
The gate worked well for a short time and has a double locking mechanism which keeps clever little fingers from opening it. Unfortunately, this mechanism broke after a short time of normal use - not impressed and wouldn't recommend.

does the job
We use it to keep the dog in kitchen great rolling up as it takes less room than traditional gates easy to install and use

Avoid
Avoid this product. It looks like the answer to unsightly stair gate problems and awkward landings / corridors. But it’s most definitely not. It’s difficult to install because of the design. You have to line up the holes for the screws EXACTLY. There is a paper template to help you do this. But if you are even 0.5 mm out, it won’t fit. Literally, I’m not exaggerating. I managed to get screws to be what I thought was perfectly aligned on our downstairs bannister newel post. I do a lot of fairly advanced DIY, so am by no means a novice. Feeling pleased with myself, I attached the gate to the brackets which were now screwed to our bannister news post. To my horror, the gate immediately became locked / jammed in place and cannot be removed (the screws are hidden once the bracket is attacked so it’s not a case of simply unscrewing them). This is seemingly because the screws were perhaps at most 0.5mm out of place. The only solution is for me to use pretty severe force to get the thing off. This will damage both the stair gate, and completely ruin our bannister. An expensive mistake. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Great gate, but not sure for the price
So far very happy with this stair gate. It is very compacted when not in use and not too offensive when in use. Very expensive in comparison to regular metal stair gates which is a shame as I can imagaine most people would weigh up is it worth going for a visually pleasing gate over the competitive price of other gates. Only other criticism I can give is its noisy when opening or closing the gate, enough to wake sleeping baby...slightly annoying!
