The 42" cutters are HUGE!
Today, I used the 42" cutters to cut 15 pieces of 1/2" rebar. A few comments: 1) The 42" cutters are HUGE! The cutter is heavy and awkwardly large; hard to control. 2) This cutter seems high quality and the handles are strong. After cutting 15 pieces of 1/2" rebar, the blade on this cutter is still perfect. 3) I absolutely cannot believe how hard it is to cut 1/2" rebar. Even at 42" long, it required all my strength and weight to cut 1/2" rebar. It was VERY difficult to cut 1/2 rebar, even with these monsters.

solid tool. have not used it yet but am confident in the way it feels it will work well. will try it on a small piece of fence and update the review if it turns out my assessment is wrong.

Bolt Cutter worked on my rust padlock like cutting through butter
We have a privacy fence and I added a gate so I can get behind the fence to trim the grass, and since we live in a gated community I didn't want people wandering into our yard as a way to bypass the community entrance. I added a standard combination lock to our gate and after awhile the lock became rusted and would no longer open. I tried oil, WD40, and even tried channel locks to force the lock open after entering the right combination with no luck. I ordered the bolt cutter to remove/cut off the rusted lock from the fence, and it did the trick. I was surprised at how easy it was to cut through the heavy duty lock, the bolt cutters had no issue, didn't even require that much pressure. Very happy with my purchase, not sure how often I will use it, but I am sure it will come in handy again. Sometimes you just need the right tool. Now I have new lock on my gate that is outdoor lock so hoping it doesn't lock.

Cut locks fine!
Used to cut a few locks free from items. These looks were small, so I'm not sure how well it will do on larger locks. It did a fine job for me! It won't hurt to have it in your tool box.
