Great product
Hippychick hip seat is great when having to carry a little one in your arms over an extended period of time. Helped ease developing back pain and easy to use

Great product - every parent should have one!
Absolutely fantastic product - my little one is 11 months old and I wish I'd got one sooner. Easy and quick to put on and works well when she's going through a clingy spell but I need to do things around the house. Have also used in queues at the theme park and round the shops. Using as a front carrier doesn't work so well as the seat tends to dip downwards and I have to hold her on a little tighter, but no complaints about using it as a side seat.

Very useful
My daughter is the-clingiest-baby-on-the-face-of-the-earthIf you too have a baby like this, you need one of these.Caution, you actually need hips to be able to wear it comfortably and not have it slide down, my partner found it difficult to wear..The safety clips and velcro are very secure and my daughter loves the seat, she falls asleep on me and i can comfortably carry her on it for, say, up to three hours. I couldn't do that without it, well not without arm or backache :) I also feel she is very secure thanks to the grippy seat pad.If you're a bit of a larger or wider hipped person you may need an extender, however, four kids and an almost middle age spread later, i didn't need one.. :) You can also buy a 'hip seat accessory bag' which i recommend as it saves you struggling to get to pockets while holding little one.Everyone i know has asked me where i got it, but i think they've been put off by the cost, although i think it was worth every penny.. however, if you're not picky, the hot pink variant was the cheapest (hint hint)Overall i love this and highly recommend it, although the price might throw you, balanced off against the backache you'll no longer get, its worth every penny, plus is well made so you'll be able to pass it on x

A vast improvement
I bought this after I had mistakenly sold on my old black one. Didn't appreciate how much more clingy my daughter would be than my son was. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with the old one, but something seems to have changed slightly in the design now and this seems to fit so much better. Either that, or I have changed shape again since number two! For the more 'comfortable' figure, there is a Hipseat Extension available - I'm a size 14 at the moment & there's a good bit more strapping there should I expand, so I'd guess the extension need only be purchased for about 20+ at a guess. Colour choice is great too - I've bought the purple this time and I love it. Have also treated myself to the little belt bag to keep wallet, keys, phone in. Very pleased with that too - well worth the extra in my opinion. It also fits onto the buggy bar with the popper strap - nice. :)Overall - excellent. Especially if you have had back problems like I did during and after this pregnancy. :)Oh, yes - and I got a rather nice little carry bag to store it in this time too. Great addition Hippychick Ltd - well thought out.

What a brilliant idea!
This is a great idea for our 16.5 kg 3 year old who walks a lot but still needs a bit of a carry and it has a weight limit of 20kg so will last a while longer. She loves it and finds it really comfortable. It's much easier on the back, arms and legs than carrying. I also bought the matching hipseat travel pouch in hot pink which is great for fitting in a few essentials. At the moment I am having a few teething troubles getting it comfortable. My hips must be a bit too bony because every time I wear it I end up with a rather sore bruise on my left hip. I have tried to alleviate this problem by padding the actual plastic seat inside the zipped compartment (it's not very padded at all around the plastic) and have also tucked some foam padding in my waistband which has helped. I am persevering as it is so useful, I only wish I'd known about it sooner.

good concept
Loved the idea. Bought this for holiday as I didn't want to bring a stroller for my 18 month old son who wanted to walk and be carried every 5 minutes. Freed up one hand while carrying him. I struggled to find a comfortable fit though. I have no hips to speak of, which might be why it kept slipping and digging into upper thigh and groin area. I also got very hot wearing it. Great idea, but it didn't get much use by me.

Six months in more pros than cons
We got this when my son (short boy but weighty) was nearly 2 and a half and he is now nearing three. I mostly carried him in a ring sling as a baby and then in a soft buckle carrier as a toddler so I wanted to find a way to still carry him but to let him have more time on his own feet. This seat is very good for this. I carry him over roads, up steep steps and when he is really tired. What makes a massive difference is if I am carrying a bag too. I have trained him to hold onto the straps on the bag with one arm going across my front and one arm round my back - like he is giving me hug really. So we go along having cuddles and being able to hear each other on noisy city streets. We have found we can go along under an umbrelka together. We can snoop over peoples garden walls ;) Great for planes, trains, buses, church services, in shops when he wants to pick EVERYTHING up, waiting in queues. Have even found we can strap it round a chair back and use it as a booster seat in a cafe - I am sure thats not recomended but it works great! He is now walking so much more that I have taken to clipping it onto my bag and only putting it on if we need to go fast or if he really demands it - so much better than an empty pushchair! On the cons side: is looking a tad knocked about after six months daily use, I get very hot under the belt, the Velcro try's to steal things so you have to Remember to do it up when you are it off, people stop you to ask you about it at the most in opportune moments. All in all it has been great for me. Do stick with it if you have tried it any wern't convinced as practice makes perfect.
