Unit stopped working after a month. Got in contact with customer support and a new power adapter later and we are back up and running. Waiting on a refund for the amount of the new adapter.

This was the cheapest I could find that would fit a sixty gallon tank that is five feet wide. i love it. it lights up the entire tank as you can see in the pic. The only thing i don't like is that the timer only works with the white light. I like to turn on the blue light at night. but right around evening time the timer just shuts everything off. i have to go over to it turn it on and put it on blue and remember to turn it off at night before bed. In the future i will purchase one that does that automatically but for right now i really do like this one.

It feels awfully dim, and I worry about it, will update with plant growth later, but I am not too excited about it for my planted tank. I really hope it does well, and it looks great. Love how it slowly turns itself on when using the built in timer, but its not really good enough. I would rather it just flash on and be able to set the time with a regular timer that I can make custom schedules with. I like turning the tank on for an hour while I get ready for work and then off until I am about to come home so I get my after work time with a lit tank instead of working 8 hours and coming home to a dark tank.

I bought a 55 gallon aquarium kit from Petsmart that came with a hooded lid with lights. I bought the Nicrew Dimmer & Timmer piece. I absolutely loved the sunset and sunrise feature. Later I wanted to gif rid of the hood and buy a led light. I bought one and it didn’t come with the sunrise and sunset feature. I tried using the Nicrew Dimmer on it and the connections didn’t work. I had that light for about a year before I decided the sunrise and sunset lacking was a deal breaker. My fish freak out every time it came on. So I purchased this light for the sunrise and sunset feature. The only thing that bugs me that the the 15 minute warm up and cool down is not included in the timer. It’s an extra 30 minutes. Thankfully I can just set it ahead 15 minutes and it will cut off by the time I want it to. If you don’t have a light yet or you light doesn’t have a sunrise and sunset feature, you need to get this light!

This is a great light with good settings. You can program it to stay on 8,10 or 12 hours. I do wish the blue light would come on automatically when it turns off for the night, or that it had a 6hr setting but for the price it can’t be beat.
