This product is very handy for pointing to items on the board. The hand at the end is plastic, the telescoping metal is like an umbrella but a little less sturdy. The handle is the thickest part, sturdy with a non-slippery grip. I got a lot of giggles from kids with the first few uses and now it's just convenient to use. The other one's at home and doubles as a back scratcher until it's needed in the classroom. It is not strong enough that you can hit the wall or a table with it (unless you want to damage it) but it's not so weak that it's fallen apart in my hands or kids' hands.

Inspired by my coworker to buy one, it’s great for having to show someone how to do something on the computer because the length of it prevents you from having to awkwardly invade the personal space of your coworker.
