CANSON 1557 Extra White 120gsm A2 Drawing Paper, Light Grain, 30 Sheets, Ideal for Professional Artists & Illustrators

This is my favorite paper to work and draw on, it’s nice and thick great for using pencil, ink and pens which is what I mainly use. This is great value for money and I’m really glad I found this because I ran out of my old sketch book. Love it!!

I'm always on the lookout for a good quality paper and this doesnt disappoint. I've only used this paper for pencil drawing upto now which is what I bought it for so cant tell you how it handles other media like watercolour. Personally for watercolour i would stick to watercolour pads. I will be buying this paper again as it's good value for money.

I have been going back and forth with different brands of paper and I can confirm this brand is one of the best I have tried. Its thickness is perfect and the paper surface is super high quality. You are able to blend different mediums on it with ease, whether this be pencils or markers. The attached drawing is a drawing I did using this exact paper.I honestly cannot fault this product. 5 stars! :)

For the last few decades, this has been my favourite drawing paper.I've used it with indian inks, acrylic inks, oil pastels, graphite, charcoal, colour pencils, and even with soft pastel techniques that didn't require a lot of tooth or colour density. I've even tried it with watercolour techniques, but that wasn't so successful as the sizing of this paper doesn't take colour the same way as watercolour paper does. It got a bit patchy, which could make a nice special effect, of course.For me, it has just enough texture to add life to a line in a drawing, yet so little that blending for instance oil pastels is easy, or inks can flow over the surface easily without gathering in denser pools in the texture as it would on rougher paper.The thickness is very nice, thick enough that if working on the top sheet of a pad, unless you use hard media and work with very hard strokes, it won't make a mark through to the page underneath.The paper is very white, yet without going over to a bluish shade. Usually I am wary of white papers as after they stopped bleaching them, the way to make naturally yellowish paper white has generally been to add optical whiteners, usually a small amount of a blue fluorescent pigment to counteract the yellowness that woodpulp paper has. Sometimes, white papers, when they age, will get even more yellow than papers that have not been treated in this way.Now, after about 15 years, I have yet to detect any major colour shifts in my Canson 1557 paper, which means they may well stay relatively white through their lifetime.In short, this is a solid, almost smooth but gently-textured paper that works well for almost any media. It is excellent if you are working with detailed artwork.

El papel de Canson como siempre de 10. Lo que no me ha gustado nada en esta ocasión es cómo he recibido el paquete. El bloc venia dentro de una caja enorme con papel dentro que se supone que es para protegerlo de golpes, pero al ser tan grande la caja, el bloc habrá dado mil vueltas dentro de ella y los picos vienen doblados. Deberia envolverse en burbujas o algo similar para aunque de golpes de un lado hacia otro nunca se puedan dañar las hojas del bloc.
