Zinc in a readily absorbed form, with the necessary dose of copper included!
I got this Nature's Life Zinc Picolinate for my husband because he has and elevated PSA level -- we're hoping due only to BPH! Apparently, the prostate is the one part of a man's body that loves zinc, needs it, and will readily absorb it - which is why it's recommended to be taken in divided doses throughout the day.Zinc Picolinate, Zinc Gluconate, and Zinc Citrate are the only forms of Zinc that are recommended because the other forms aren't readily absorbed by the body. Also, be sure whenever you take Zinc, you check to see if it has Cadmium in it. Cadmium and Zinc often occur together in nature, but over time Cadmium is toxic and can lead to kidney failure. When taking a Zinc supplement you need to take a very small dose of copper as well (2 mg for every 30 mg of Zinc) because Zinc will deplete the body of copper. I was really happy to find this Zinc in the proper form with the right amount of copper as well, and the price was really good. For BPH, 30 mg zinc/2 mg copper is recommended 3 times a day to start, and then there's a taper. This bottle should last my husband for a while. There are SO many things Zinc is good for, in most people it can't hurt to take a really good Zinc/copper supplement! Although a deficiency is rare in the United States, Zinc is needed for the proper growth and maintenance of the human body. It is found in several systems, and is needed for immune function, wound healing, blood clotting, and thyroid function - to name just a few. It's also essential to good vision, and is recommended for those who have a family history of macular degeneration. Low zinc levels have been associated with male infertility, sickle cell disease, HIV, major depression, and type 2 diabetes - of which it's recommended to take a zinc supplement. We're crossing our fingers my husband has only BPH, and not cancer, but we want to make sure we've done everything we can to insure his nutritional health - either way! We're also using adaptogens - which I'll also be reviewing, in addition to the other supplements he's taking for optimum prostate health! Two of which are Saw Palmetto and Nettles. (Saw Palmetto is the only thing prescribed in Germany for Prostate Cancer, and has been for a LONG time -- despite one study here which seemed to contradict it's usefulness. We'll err on the side of caution, and a time tested remedy!)I would recommend Zinc/copper supplement to anyone interested in it's usefulness!

Perfect dose
Most zinc doses are too large. This one contains just enough zinc to supplement the zinc in food that I eat. Good value too.

Zinc
The quality seems to be great, but I don't think it is for me. Great for the money and value.

Great for prostate cancer
My father has prostate cancer and has opted to not have surgery etc. I had a Doctor friend of mine suggest this zinc copper formula as it could help increase quality of life. I purchased a bottle and shipped it to him, couldn’t hurt to try. My father would get up 2-3 times a night to urinate and couldn’t get back to sleep most of the time and he would just be awake at 3-4 am. He has been taking one tablet a day right before bed for the past month and he reports that he doesn’t have the urgency, can sleep all night now, he even slept in until 9 am the other morning which he hasn’t done in a long time. He has a more regular stream when urinating and can empty his bladder completely. I also purchased him a pillow cube and between the pills and new pillow he is enjoying life again.

Something about these make me incredibly nauseous but seller was helpful
I’ve taken a lot of zinc supplements, always with food after making the mistake of taking it on an empty stomach years ago. Even with food, something about this zinc makes me feel super nauseous. Sad because it seems like a great value. The seller reached out and was kind enough to offer a solution since these didn't work for me.

Taking with food is not a joke, you're likely not an exception
I saw many reviews mention taking this with food to avoid nausea, but historically I tolerate medicine / supplements well on an empty stomach. Well, the reviewers are right! Definitely recommend taking this with food. Once the nausea started coming on (mild), I ate a little food (a bite of bread and a few slices of roast beef), and the nausea dissapated. In my limited experience, it doesn't take much food, but food is recommend. My understanding is that zinc ought to be paired with copper, hence my selection of this product. Having taken but one capsule so far I have nothing to offer regarding potential results, but what I can offer is that I reckon I got what was advertised.

Just what I needed
I got this vitamin to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My Phase 2 was a little long my fertility awareness based method instructor suggested zinc picolinate and magnesium glycinate to regulate my cycle and help shorten Phase 2 and help decrease period pain since mine is about 8/10 every cycleThe pills are easy to swallow. I can easily swallow them with all my medication. I swallow it and 6 other pills at the same time with no problems. No aftertaste, eitherGreat buy and it really helped reduce menstrual cramps!
