Different levels of Challenge
Started using this with my 12 month old grandson. He could manipulate the spinners and one latch. At the point of frustration we put it away for later. He is now 18 months and can do almost all of the latches and talks to the animals in the pictures. It is great for fine motor skills and problem solving. It is heavy, so stay by the child's side so they don't pull it onto their toes. It comes with a little book which he looks through often. Well worth the money. Would buy again.

Well made, good for multiple ages
I got this for a road trip as a toy both my 3.5 year old and 1 year old could play with - it’s a huge hit! It’s well made, cute and a good size

Poor quality control
I got this for my son's first birthday because he loves locks and hinges and everything metal. I was familiar with the Melissa and Doug version of this toy, but I never cared for the pictures on that one. So I was very excited to find this latch board, which is much cuter. However, the doors and latches are much more difficult to open and close. The hinges were uneven and the wood was a little warped. I ultimately thought that my son would get frustrated trying to play with it. In addition to that, some of the paint was already peeling a little bit. It's such a shame because it is A LOT more attractive than the Melissa and Doug one. Since they are about the same price, I say stick with the Melissa and Doug version.

Cute busy board
I like this busy board. My kids (1.5 and 4) have enjoyed it as well. My 1.5 year old hasn't learned how to do most of the latches yet, but my 4 year old was learning them as we went through it. I think my 1.5 year old will learn them pretty soon; I just need to work with her on it a little bit. It's fun to have something for them to work on. Having the book to read with it is an awesome idea. They were both knocking on the doors, just like the book says, and then we open and look inside each one. The pages of the book are thicker and more durable than a 'regular' book, and I appreciate the binding being stitched. I am not so sure the book will hold up all that well over a long time, but time will tell. The board seems like it will hold up well and appears to be durable. Overall I am quite pleased with this product.

22 months old
While the book is a little too advanced for my 22 months old, he loves playing with the busy board. He makes me bring out this toy every day. I love that this is like a grow with me toy so one day I will be able to introduce the book to him too so he can do the puzzle.

Good toy but a few changes could have made it great
My son really likes this toy. When we first opened our Battat Education busy board he played with it for an hour straight. He had me reread the included book to him so many times I lost count. By the end my son was a pro at opening and closing all the locks. This busy board consists of five doors with locks and two spinner toys. It has bold vibrant colors and the graphics are clean and crisp. The book that accompanies it has a short story and fun ideas with how to interact with the busy board. Overall, this is a really fun toy but I wish there were a few things that were different. I do wish the book was sturdier. Following the story you close all the doors at the end but by keeping the doors open you cover up steps that come later. Also, I ended up changing a few lines in the story so that they actually rhymed. The biggest thing though is door number 4. It is super hard to open so much so that we are going to try sanding it down for a better fit.

Great for fine motor skill development
This board is great for fine motor skill development! With all the different kind of locks on it, it can easily keep a toddler busy for a little while before they want to move on to something different. My 2 year old gets frustrated and wants a lot of help to latch and unlatch the locks - she isn't quite there yet developmentally, so I think it's better suited for toddlers a little bit older than this, maybe closer to 3.
