Great machine
I love my Bernette b77. It is very similar to my Bernina 710 and with some aspects I like even better than the 710, such as top loading bobbin and power button that works with the foot pedal still attached. It’s a joy to sew with! I also like that it is lighter and easier to carry. And most of all it is very affordable, much less expensive than the 770. You won’t regret buying one. I did see some reviews that say their machine was used. My question is how did they know that? I bought mine on Amazon and there are no indications that it has been used. It came tightly packaged in its original packaging, no scratches or visible damaged and a very low stitch count from just being tested with a piece of testing fabric left under the presser foot. It runs like a dream. I see no evidence of prior use.

This is a solid yet lightweight computerized machine with lots of stitches.
This is an amazing machine. I wanted something light (15 lbs) and fairly inexpensive to transport to quilting groups, but I didn't want to compromise too much on the basic sewing abilities of my Bernina 770. The function buttons and foot on the b77 are the same as my 770. The screen and functions are similar to my 770. The quality and feel are impressive.

Really high quality
I have been sewing for over 30 years on a Pfaff 1475. IDT (built in dual feed) was a must for me. There was nothing else out there with Pfaff type idt. till now. I am more than happy with this machine, very high quality, it is super quiet and has enough "bells and whistles" for me. Another great feature is to be able to use all my Pfaff feet, just buy the Pfaff ankle, the feet that came with the machine will also work with this ankle. I love Pfaff feet, they are matte, I dislike shiny metal ones. I do use the foot that came with the machine though, it has a nice feature of pushing the black knob on it to go over bulky seams. Love the foot pedal, so much to like with this machine. I did a lot of research before buying this machine, and to me this was a no brainer. There is a lot of Bernina snobbery out there saying this is not a Bernina. I beg to differ, it is made in Bernina's Thailand plant that they built and is run by Bernina, they give a tour of the factory on youtube. All Bernina's and Bernettes are manufactured there except a couple of their top of the line machines that are made in their Switzerland plant. Bernettes are simply their low to mid range machine line.Would like to add that on this machine you can use the Start/Stop button or the foot pedal without unplugging.. Nice!! It appears that on most machines you have to unplug the foot pedal to use the start/stop button, certainly was true of Juki Dx line. I read that only Bernina or high end Vikings allow you to do this. True for the Viking designer which I own. Not having this feature would have been a deal breaker for me because I like to use both depending on what I am doing so the B77 delivers. And the wonderful foot pedal, programmable and does not slide around. And this machine will not eat your fabric. I will post a fuller review on Patternreview by the end of the week.

Sewing machine was used
Like another reviewer, I received a used sewing machine. I am returning it. To pay full price for a used machine is unacceptable.

A great and affordable Bernina: the Bernette
The media could not be loaded. If you buy sewing machines from Amazon, you need to do your research . If you just buy it online, you won’t be able to get all the information on the machine from the product description on Amazon. . Bernette does have a pdf that you can download on comparing all the Bernette models. It is also a good idea to contact the dealer and ask questions about what you want. All the dealers are third party sellers and Amazon does not know anything about the machine. Also, make sure to know the return policy. I had no idea this machine doesn’t do embroidery. There are three 70 models: b70 (embroidery only) , b 77 (quilting and sewing), and b 79 which does sewing, embroidery, and quilting. However, I am very happy with this machine. I sewed 1000 face masks with it. I also made Halloween, Christmas, and valentines placements that I donated for kids during the pandemic. Right now I’m making wine bottle holders for a charity auction. The machine is a very good machine for quilting and sewing. It’s a work horse and can sew fast and well. It has a lot of stitch designs and you can save your most used designs. It has a lot of good features for quilting and sewing.it also has a nice large throat to feed heavy bulky items. Bernina really made a great machine with this product.
