Daughter loved it
Took long time to assemble but was worth it and fun. Finished product looked great with a lot of detail. Liked the inside light. Would definitely buy another book nook from this company.

This was my first attempt and I enjoyed it
The media could not be loaded. My glue exploded on step 1 so I had to go buy something so that might be some of my issues but I did have to use superglue in some places because it just WOULDNT fit. The sensor doesn’t work so it just turns off after about 3 minutes and the back on about 30 seconds later but honestly it will be off so whatever. Some of the instructions are hard to see because it’s all the same color and dark with arrows like, you want this where?! But I got it all to work. Spent about 2 weekends for a couple hours a day. Oh and even if it doesn’t tell you to in the step, glue it. I promise that will save you at the end!

Pieces Don't Fit
This is the second book nook I have built. I thought this one was fine, but the pieces sometimes didn't fit together closely. I had to glue nearly everything together just for it to stay in place. There are a ton of detail-oriented projects within this project that I found to be pointless. For example, it had you fold long strips of paper with writing on them like book pages into accordions only for you to put it into an envelope that you'll glue shut...like 20 times. The button for the light doesn't work, so I have to lift the entire kit to turn it on by the battery box. The light strands weren't labeled, but they were all different lengths. The instructions weren't clear as to which strands you were supposed to put where, and I had to take it apart twice to fix it only to find out it was STILL not right at the end. You can see the red and black wiring through the roof easily, too. I found the pieces for this one splintered and broke way easier than the other kit I've assembled. I don't think I'll get another kit from this brand unless it's just a kit I can't live without. I wish it would've been better with the amount of time and effort I put into it.

Very fun and easier than a lot of kits
This is a fun kit. Some of these can be frustrating but this one was great. It took me about 4 hours. The paper cutouts were perforated, it came with glue and the electrical components were plug and play. I actually looked up other kits by this manufacturer just because there is such a discrepancy in quality with book nook kits. The only negative was that the instructions didn’t always have the correct numbers by the pieces. This was easily remedied by just look at the pictures and shapes of the pieces. But a little frustrating. It was a smaller kit so definitely manageable.

Best gifts ever
I got these for my two book, loving children, hours of enjoyment, putting them together, and they look great on their shelves.

Special edition is HORRIBLE!
***Edit! Buy this from another seller and you might get one with correct instructions. I bought another from LORDSLDS. The parts are labeled correctly and it shows a production date of 6/30/23. I called Amazon about this one. They're allowing the return even though it was partially put together.I got this kit to make as an anniversary gift for my partner. Unfortunately, it's been a bad experience because of the errors I've found in the instructions. I've assembled several beautiful kits and this one is just so poorly made. See details below.Overall it's a pretty set, but the base material is not as sturdy as in other kits. Wiring in the lights is not tight as they turn on and off when the wires are moved. Acrylic window pieces are missing too. The book says there's a QR code to scan for help, but I couldn't find it. I'm going to call Amazon about it.Here are the errors I've found at far. I was intending this to be feedback to the maker and also for other crafters. I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore with how many errors I'm finding.**In step 2, part E2 in the book is actually part G20.**Couple things about step 4 with assembling the barrel... Part F4 in the book is actually I6, and part F3 in the book is actually I5. Also a clarification on the assembly... After G9 is attached to G10, one end of G10 is slightly longer than the other. The longer end goes into the base (I6), and then angle outwards a bit to make room for the other 7 panels. This is not clear in the book, so it took me a few attempts to figure it out.**Step 6 has multiple errors. C16 in the book is actually C22. D1 in the book is actually C16. C18 in the book is actually I7. (That took a while find.)**Step 7 also has multiple errors. E3 in the book is actually E2. F5 in the book is actually F3.If you buy this, good luck!

Extreme detail
Extreme detail! Not for the impatient, novice, procrastinator, or attention deficient. This is the second one of these I bought my husband. The first was the "Sailing Memories" nook book. It was detailed enough but not intense for a first go at one of these. He highly enjoyed it as it came together quickly and in about a week of hour a day sessions, was finished.THIS, "Detective Agency" is extreme detail. For example, you will be binding tiny books, one by one, filling and sealing file envelopes with papers no one will ever see, building a file cabinet, drawer by drawer, building every crate then filling with posters you will cut out individually....extreme detail. If you enjoy this sort of thing- you will be in heaven...if you don't: pure hell.My husband however is enjoying every teeny tiny step of detail.Choose wisely.ADDED MATERIALS NEEDED:Puzzle glue dries clearest and best.Toothpicks to apply glue.Scissors to cut out a zillion file papers.Razor knife or exacto blade to trim wood nubs from popouts.2 AA batteries for light.
