Made a 15 hour plane ride bearable
This headset is a lot of money, and honestly I struggled a bit with that-would I get the value out of it? At first I wore them around the house, or at my desk-the USB-C attachment works great with my Ipad Pro, and I really enjoyed the view. The colors are saturated, the screen is super sharp (once you get it dialed into your vision and head size parameters). You can actually see where the cameras are focussed in a lot of the 4K content I put through it. I never found the weight to be an issue, or uncomfortable, but I am a big guy with a heavy head so maybe I'm used to it. There is a bit of dropoff around the corners where I couldn't see them, especially on the bottom, unless I smashed the goggles closer to my face. that was only slight, however. Where these really truly shined and it totally made it worth every penny was on a 15 hour flight to Asia each way. I really enjoyed just putting these on, along with my airpods for sound, and watching entire series of shows without being bothered by external lights or sounds, or even plane announcements. It made the flights so much more bearable! These aren't perfect- besides the corners fading off, it doesn't come with a case so I had to find one around the house that worked well enough. For this sort of price it should, in my opinion, come with something to protect your investment. Also, while the connection is a standard USB-c plug, and it comes with one, it is a bespoke size that fits into the headset. That means if you lose or break the cable, or even just want a longer one (the one that comes with it is fairly short) you need to buy another one from them, as it is the only type that will fit. None of my super expensive Thunderbolt cables will work with it. This limits the use too, since I can only use it with my Xbox X when I'm sitting next to it, which doesn't quite work for my use. All that being said, the flights alone made this worth it!

Super picture quality, a few drawbacks but a good product
This is a great head-mounted display with a couple of small drawbacks. The drawbacks are (1) the head mount doesn't get the screen quite close enough to your face, so it's very hard to get the pupillary distance sliders set to see all 4 corners of the screen. I almost always end up losing just a little of all 4 corners, (2) the speakers aren't very good (hardly a significant drawback since headphones are the way to go with this kind of thing anyway, and (3) it's expensive. Also, the directions do an excellent job of documenting what all the controls do but there is no guide to how to hook it up and if you aren't careful you could get the power connection and the headset connection switched, which I imagine would be bad for the headset! The plusses outweigh the negatives though. The screen is bright and clear and the color is rich and vibrant - it's really a lush display and my laptop looks pretty drab when I switch back to it. The focus knobs let you focus each eye independently, a plus for those of us with asymmetric vision. The vendor doesn't include a power cable but if you're buying this thing you almost certainly have a USB-C power cable someplace. I tested it with my laptop and with an iPad (using a Lightning-to-HDMI cable) and it works flawlessly without any struggles to connect. I've also used Bluetooth earbuds with the headset while using my PC, simply by setting my active audio output to the earbuds - the headset doesn't insist you use its audio channel. The G3 Max will also play stereoscopic 3D videos when you click a button to enable it, and it looks good when doing so, but please be aware this is NOT a VR headset, it does not sense or respond to head motion in any way.The unit is light and the headband is comfy, you can lay back and relax and enjoy the big theater experience without any discomfort. The display unit flips up out of the way so you can get back to the real world to grab your drink or something without removing the headset. The faceplate part is soft and comfortable, and the unit is deep enough to wear eyeglasses if you want - I never do because the focus adjustments let me get along fine without my glasses and also because with glasses on you lose even more of the screen corners as outlined above. All in all this is a very nice head-mounted display with a really great picture, and if you can get past the sticker shock you'll be very happy with the unit.
