Quiet and cheap!
I bought a couple of these for my older system in a 4U rackmount case turned HTPC that still uses 3-pin fan headers. They do an amazing job at keeping my air-cooled system nice and cool. The only time I really hear them is a couple seconds before the system actually boots, but they're otherwise whisper quiet. Will definitely be using the 4-pin variants in my next build!

Nice flow, not quiet
Airflow is great, very pleased compared to the old fans I replaced. Fans feel rock solid too, not flimsy at all. These fans are pretty loud. I'm not obsessed with quiet cases, but these were loud enough that I went out and bought the sound dampening extras (the brackets and the mounts). They made a decent difference, to the point where I'm comfortable with the noise now. That being said these fan's aren't advertised as quiet, so I can't fault the product for the noise. If you are considering these fans for a computer where someone can hear it, I strongly recommend you go with the NF-S12A or another quieter option. The airflow is great, but even if you don't care too much about a quiet computer these fans are quite loud.[review was rewritten after purchase and installation of sound dampeners]

Quiet, powerful, good price and durable.
If you want something with flashy colors alot of noise and a higher price, this is not your product, but if you want a really quiet fan, really powerfull, at a really reachable price and that is going to work for years. this is the best option. i have one of this from time ago and i replacing 1 rgb corsair fan and one nzxt that stop working recently, after less that 1 and 2 years of use. if you want rgb in your PC, go and buy a couple of rbg lights on amazon, dont waste your money in RGB fans, 90% of then sucks and are really expensives, those works when they want, sycn when they want and stop working when they want, no matter the brand, and the software needed to make them "work" is going to eat alot of resources of your PC , the Noctua NF-S12B redux was my best buy years ago and today.

A little louder than I expected but still adequate
I used these to replace a couple failed fans in my home theater cabinet. Because it's for HT, I wanted some that were quiet and all of the other Noctuas I have are relatively quiet, but I do hear these a bit more than I was expecting. But it's really only when it's dead silent and I don't actually have any sound playing, which just means I hear it when the TV is off entirely. It doesn't get in the way of watching/listening to shows at all so in that sense it's fine, it's just the times (like now) when I'm doing something else in the room and the TV is off and I hear the 2 fans lightly humming.Still, I expect that fans from other makers would either be louder, or not move as much air, so I think this is a good tradeoff and I'm not really complaining, but I wanted to point out that these are not -totally- silent... I mean, you will be able to hear them when there's nothing else going on, but it's not unpleasant at all, not high pitched or anything like that. More like a soft white-noise than anything else and maybe some folks would enjoy that.

Great fans, good price, but some drone at full speed/12V
I bought these 3-pin fans because I specifically wanted a quality fan to run straight off of the power supply. If you're looking for silence, buy the 700 RPM version or use a low noise adapter to bring them down to 9V. These do make an audible drone at 12V/ 1200 RPM, but kick them down a notch in voltage and they are whisper quiet. On the drone: noise is such a subjective thing, but to me these definitely drone at 1200 RPM. Where other, cheaper fans running at max speed make a "whoosh" of moving air and an audible bearing "crunch" noise underneath, these fans make no bearing noise, but have a lower, almost propeller-like pitch to the blades moving the air, which makes sense when you look at the shape of the blades! This is extreme level nitpicking though- for a gaming PC these are perfectly fine to run at 12V, though for a quiet time desktop or HTPC (or something you leave on overnight) I would suggest 9V or running through a controller. They're high quality, come at a decent price, and don't really move me one way or the other looks wise, which is a good thing if you're not looking to have your fans look like neon alien buzzsaws with ninjas on them.

They're great fans
Fans are great. My PC was running very loud because I originally set it up with terrible fans. Finally got some of these for 120s and some bequiet fans for the 140s (didn't use noctua because the 140s were very visible and I wanted black fans). These noctua are awesome, they're not even that loud at full speed, but with three of them on the case intake, they moved enough air to keep an i9/3090 combo in a compact ATX case from thermo throttling without passing 60% speed while stress testing

A good fan.
I think this is a good fan, but it's not perfect. As part of the "redux" line from Noctua, it's got a more basic package. I think these fans are probably not the best value in the about $14 dollar or so range. But I was going with a gray & silver build so they are really nice. I think asthetically they look very nice. It does, due to its design, move air well through open spaces. I use Noctua's low noise adapter with this and it works well, and is very quiet at about 900RPM or so. At stock speed I think it's a little loud, but that's just me and your mileage may vary. As with other Noctua fans, it makes a low pitched hum. In all, it works for me and I look forward to many years of service with it.
