Yes it is a genuine GI metal pizza peel. It’s great. I use it daily.

Q: Still haven't found the right peel for placing/turning pizzas in my Primo grill. Need 24 handle. Can i cut these handles and adjust plastic grips??

This particular peel is made of Stainless Steel, as is the handle. Some of the other GI Metal peels are made of Aluminum, which is softer and easier to cut and drill through. I shortened a stainless GI Metal Peel like this one today, just after receiving it. If you have the right tools, take a little bit of time, exercise care and wear eye protection, you can shorten these handles. I used a rotary tool with a diamond "cut-off disk to cut about 8" off of the handle of my 23" model. I then drilled a hole through the metal with a hard drill bit. It helps to use an awl or something like that to slightly dent where you are going to drill the hole, then to drill a small diameter pilot/guide hole, then to drill through with the right size to allow the bolt to pass through. You remount the blue plastic handles on at the end of the job, after shortening and drilling the hole. If you are unfamiliar with cutting or drilling stainless steel, you will find the job very difficult and perhaps impossible unless you have the right tools lying around.

No, I have large wood fired pizza over. I have only used small peel on few occasions. Only when pizza had lodged it self to the brick over floor. It perform perfectly at that task.
