Sturdy sword great for display and seems relatively sharp.
For the price of the sword I was not expecting this great of quality. The katana is exactly as pictured and quite hefty. To be completely honest I'm no expert on katanas, but it came with a cool "sword certificate" detailing how it was manufactured and the specifications of the sword. The certificate claims the blade is hand-forged and though I'm not taking any stars off since I cannot verify this, I highly doubt it. The first clue that this may be false is the incredibly low price (most hand-forged swords online are at least $200, a traditionally forged katana can cost thousands) and there is nothing on the sword that sticks out to me as handcrafted. It looks like it was mass-produced, which makes sense since it's being sold on amazon where many swords will be sold. Another small slight I don't personally care about is it can be difficult to unsheathe it since there's engravings at the base of the blade which are not accounted for in the sheathe.Barring that, it's a very good quality sword. I never tested the sharpness and don't intend to since I'm using to for decorative purposes, but it seems fairly sharp as it ripped through the plastic wrapping the blade came in easily. And of course, it looks amazing.

Great Katana display
This is a great katana display to add to my office. The blade is sharp and craftsmanship is beautiful. The wrapping is tight and intact. The blue color is beautiful and very attractive to the eye. This is a fun sword to wing around and have fun being a fruit ninja but i would rather keep this displayed.Lastly, this does not come with the stand.

Stunning Sword
Absolutely stunning katana. The detail on this sword is exceptional and the color just makes this so beautifully and wonderful to hold and keep on display. The blade is made of carbon steel, the saya has a wonderful snowflake design and is made of solid wood which is sturdy and durable. This also comes with a sword bag, but no stand. I’m pretty new to sword collecting but I absolutely love the craftsmanship of this one.

Semi-Decorative Katana Sword and Sheath
I collect decorative swords and have one hand forged sword. I have also done some research related specifically to katanas. That said, I am not an expert.First, the decorative aspects of the katana – In general it is pretty and well done. It looks nice sitting up on a shelf on a pretty stand (not included) if you are far away. When you look closer it falls apart on the quality for that price. The katana has straight lines across the blade every two inches. These are not as visible behind the blue on the blade, but are highly visible where the blade is uncolored. Now that I know what to look for, I can see them in one of the seller’s pictures and in their video. These lines even interrupt the blue pattern in a couple of places on this katana. I have never seen something like this in a display sword. I took it down a star for this. The blue spider silk design is very pretty. However, if you look at it closely you can see that it is pixilated. That may actually be what they are after, but I wanted to mention it. This blue covering also hides most of the metal blade. The part that is visible (near the hilt), doesn’t show the hamon (wavy line) that a high quality hand forged katana will have. The handle covering is well done and the two bamboo nails (mekugi) are visible. I cannot verify if this is a full tang sword as that part is not visible. This sword does have a small ding on the end of the handle, where it looks like it hit something. The sheath is well made and fits the sword firmly. It is made of wood.Dimensions –Blade tip to hilt is about 29”Other side of hilt to end of the handle is about 10.5”Total length (straight line) is about 39.8”Yes, it is sharp. Be careful. The seller packed it well. The sword arrived nicely oiled and with no rust. The black silk bag will easily hold the sword in its sheath – plenty of room. The sword comes with a certificate – partially in Japanese and partially in English. The certificate states in English, “This katana is full hand forged. Using traditional hand forging process with exquisite workmanship and superb technology, it is worth collecting after being identified.” I knocked it down a star for this. I have seen what hand forged swords look like and this sword does not have that appearance. Also, in the seller’s description it lists the blade hardness at 58HRC, but on the certificate it says “The cutting edge hardness can reach 57HRC”. (This is what is used for good kitchen knives.)Please note that this katana does not come with a stand (as stated by the seller in a couple of places.)I would not have got this sword if I had known about those lines two inches apart on the sword blade. I think they really detract from its appearance.

Impressive Design and Feel
What a cool sword! I really like the design and feel of this sword. I have dagger from the France and a saber from Germany, so I'm really happy to add this piece of art to my collection!

Amazing sword
This sword is absolutely beautiful. The workmanship and color is amazing. This is a full-size sword with scabbard. The blade has an edge on it and is sharp. I doubt that it is an actual Katana sword since the cost for a sword that has gone through the forging process to create a Katana would be prohibitively high. This one does come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity but a lot of the writing is in Japanese so who knows what it says. But it is a beautiful sword and worthy of display even if it's not an actual Katana. It does not come with a display stand so you will need to either make one or buy one separately.
