Works as advertised, charges my Garmin
Many cables of this type that I tried will not charge properly with a Garmin GPS, but this one works fine.

No data, power only
Bought it to add small power pack that gives me multiple days of use vs the 8 hrs on AA batteries, I put rechargeable mh batteries in the unit so it is recharged by the power pack. The only drawback is I need to change cables to download\upload data.

Exactly what we wanted
My other half hates to have wires all over the place in the vehicle, so when we got a new one that didn't have a GPS built into the radio, we went with a portable one. The power cable that came with it was only a few feet long so he couldn't hide the cable, this was the perfect solution! He ran it through the dash and now you can only see the final six or seven inches of it. He is very happy and that makes me very happy.
