Most of it can be reused...meaning ...you obviously won't want to use the grey , black, or burnt sand. You can use what is left after scraping all that dry scorched sand off. If it won't stick together it won't work.

1 lb fills approx 15 to 18 square inches. A mold that is 4"x2"x2" would be 16 square inches. Hope that helps, JVL

Q: Is there any mixing or additives to add or is this sand reasy to use?

Petorbond is an proprietary oil bonded casting media that is ready to use with nothing to add or mix. Unlike water mixed casting sand the Petrobond does not easily evaporate. For long term storage you should keep in a sealed container or plastic bag. If you are not familiar with oil bonded casting media it is consumable. After casting the burned Petrobond around the casting needs to be removed and discarded. The remainder is ready to be used again.

Hello, The sand is capable of capturing a fair amount of detail. However, you may have some trouble with intricate detail under 1 mm. Thank you!
