A Serious Piece of Test Equipment
I am a DIYer an seem to do a lot of electrical work. Until now, I have been using a cheap volt meter I got on sale at a local tool store but was interested finding something better. The OWON CM210E Min Digital Clamp-On Meter is the perfect answer.First, I appreciate that the meter and accessories come packed in a zippered soft case. Aside from giving it protection in my tool bag, it's a great way to keep everything together. There is even a little pocket in the case to store extra leads, test clips, extra batteries, notes, etc.In the case is the OWON meter, two test leads, two AAA batteries, a very detailed User Manual and a small screwdriver, used to open the battery cover. The meter has an easy to read LED screen and even has a backlight for dark situations. The meter function is controlled by a single dial at the top of the meter. The dial is clearly labelled for testing voltage, amps, continuity, etc. There is also a setting for NCV (non-contact voltage) testing. The included leads use standard banana plug type connections to the meter so finding a replacement, should you ever need it should not be a problem. The leads themselves are a little over 3 feet long making it easy to lay the meter down and work with both leads for many situations. The probe end of the leads include plastic covers so that just the tip is exposed which is good for situation when you need to take a measurement in a hot box or open wires or a circuit boards with close points. The probe covers are easily removed if needed.Don't be fooled by the word Mini in the description or the very reasonable price of this meter. This is a serious piece of test equipment and seems to be very accurate when I tested some circuits. The User Manual is well written and is very complete and it would be time well spent to review the manual before using the meter. That said, about half of the manual deals with an app that compliments the meter. Unfortunately, this meter does not have Bluetooth, which is required to sync the meter to your phone so you don't need to spend time reviewing that. There are two minor negatives I found but in my opinion, neither are serious enough to take away a star from the rating.First, the small screwdriver that is included is terrible. While it will work, it is so small, it is hard to even grip the handle. I suggest using a small PH1 screwdriver, which, if you do electrical work, is already in your tool bag.The other is the NCV tester built into the meter. It does work, but I found it to be a little hit or miss when identifying live circuits. I have tested some other meters that include a NCV tester in the meter. This meter is no worse than those but also no better. I would suggest investing in a stand-alone NCV tester to use with this meter. It is a small price to pay to ensure you do not stick your hands into a live circuit unknowingly.Other than that, this is a great meter. If you are a professional electrician, you will probably invest in a Fluke or Klein meter. The OWON CM210E Min Digital Clamp-On Meter is not intended to replace those pro quality meters. But for the homeowner or DIYer looking for a good quality clamp-on meter at a reasonable price, the OWON CM210E Min Digital Clamp-On Meter fits the bill.

Works fine but not heavy duty
This is a nice product which I keep in my car tool box. It is not really heavy duty plastic and would not hold up to a lot of abuse on a worksite. But for emergency use and travel, it is a nice addition to a travel box. Pretty standard functions otherwise.

Roughly as accurate and half the price of the Uni-T version. Imperfect, but a great value.
Arrives in a tough brown box with minimal expense squandered in its printing.I own and appreciate the Uni-T meter which this is a clone of. Very few clamp meters attempt to read DC current this low. Some beefs I have with the Unit-T meter is the way the Hz selection gets in the way of DC clamp readings, and the lack of an ‘off’ at both ends of the dial rotation. This item addresses both of those shortcomings. Also, the Uni-T is a 2,000 count where this is a 19,999… at near half the price!Leads seem to be silicone and are marked 10A 600VThere is no screen scratch protector which is a little disappointing. I like to leave mine on for a few years till the plastic gets dinged up, then peel it off and feel like I have a new meter again. The case is a size you can actually USE, unlike some cases which barely fit the product with jamming and tension. The #1 way for people to blow up a meter is to leave it in current mode and go testing for voltage. This meter only reads current at the clamp. This greatly reduces the potential to fry the meter by mistake. The manual only warns that over 60VDC / 30VAC may not be safe for you. There is a chance the meter is sensitive to high voltages when in the diode / continuity mode but I don’t want to risk frying this one to find that out.Includes a pair of AAA alkaline batteries. I swapped them for rechargeables to see if the meter is Ok with the slightly lower operating voltage of rechargeables – and because rechargeables rarely leak. The manual states that the low battery symbol will come on under 2.5V and the meter will not operate below 2.2V. So far, so good. You can see in the photos that the accuracy of this meter is excellent.Be sure to zero the meter like crazy when using the DC amp clamp. It’s the only way you can get accurate measurements. And keep the jaws away from magnets or you’ll ruin the DC amp capability. All DC amp clamps are like that.Capacitance and resistance measurements seem to be within the same margin of error as my Uni-T meters. This unit fails to show the forward voltage of a 2.59V LED just like my similar Uni-T meter.Continuity latching is instant. The NCV is only trustworthy within a few mm of the live wire. It's too insensitive to detect a live outlet from the front. The HZ function is very impressive. It was accurate enough up to 3MHz, the highest I can throw at it, and it didn't care what the waveform was.The last half of the manual refers to a CM2100B version of the meter with Bluetooth functionality.19,000 count and seems accurate enough to make an honest use of them. Tho note that when displaying less than 100mA the display shows 00.xxmA which is peculiar. Regardless, at only $30 this gets 5 stars.

Great, accurate little meter.
I have a fluke meter for important electrical measurements for customers and priority jobs. The fluke seems easier to operate but that is likely because I have been using it for 20 years and know how to set it. I would change the knob selection to Voltage, Resistance, a new setting for diode testing with tone and then the Amp ranges and finally Hz. The off at both ends is a nice option. Other reviews have shown the accuracy of the meter. I concur that it reads very precise. I will be using this meter as my go to meter for most jobs, it will be tossed around in a tool bag or belt and if it gets damaged then it is a lot less expensive to replace. If it does get damaged or fails, I hope by that time I am an expert with it and will likely get another. The backlight is a nice option also, makes everything a bit more clear.
