It worked exactly as described, We tried it out the first day, on my son, because I did not want my mother on the ground to test it. Then the next day she fell and we used it and it worked perfectly. It is a life saver! It is a little heavy. But if it is positioned where they could get to it if they fell, they really could lift themselves up very easily. The chair is about 5 to 7 inches high when it is laying on the floor so it is not thin but well put together. If it is really well placed suction cups that will help it stick to the floor, open it up and fold out the side panels and a senior could maneuver on to the seat to lift themselves up to a full sitting position. There are videos out there and it is not the least expensive item, but if you have a senior that is prone to falling it is a good item to have.

This broke the first time I tried to use it to demonstrate it to my mom. The plastic tabs that attach to the back shattered. If that’s not disappointing enough, it caused the chair to topple and I fell to the floor and it fell on top of me. No big deal for me. It’s light and it wasn’t that far of a fall, but can you imagine if this happened to an elderly person trying to get up from a painful fall? This is a dangerous product.

Tremendous value for the money and exactly what we needed for the house. It's my hope that the item is never needed, but it gives us comfort knowing its there. Tested it for the first time...plopped myself on the chair carrying 2 bowling balls to add weight. The chair lifted me to sitting height with no problem.

I have not fallen recently so have not needed to use it. My daughter tried it for me so I would not need to get to the floor. It lifted her up fine. I only sat on it in the up position. I hope I never need it but I feel better having it here. I have fallen twice in the past. One which resulted in going to a hospital for surgery 5 years ago I fell again recently & could not get up due to bad knees. Nice, young, strong firemen came to the rescue. I was ok but it was embarrassing. So I looked for help on Amazon & found this lift chair. I read the reviews & compared several & am satisfied with this one.Additional review:I fell to my knees this morning not far from my Vocic assist chair. It was a slow fall and I held onto my walker as I fell. I managed to get on my behind and slide to my lift assist chair, slide onto the seat and used the remote to lift myself up. It lifted me up smoothly. I am soooo glad I bought this chair. Just for reference, it has not been charged since April & still had plenty charge left. I will set it back up on charge today though. I recommend this chair and give it the highest rating.

Super easy to slide onto. Hit the up arrow, it lifts you slowly and safely to a seated position. A walker, gait belt, and trusted support; you're back in the chair, bed, or other. Light enough for me to pick up. Compact enough to store easily. The control pad is the only piece you need to charge.I have MS. I bought this six months ago when I was falling daily. The episode quit without needing it. That changed last night. If you're lucky this is a purchase you never have to use; it's just reassurance.
