Excellent value
Excellent value for money, comes with everything you need to get started. We have a diabetic cat and have found this invaluable to keep track of his glucose levels.Found it to be accurate enough to trust as we ran it alongside a different one supplied by our vets a few times and results were always close enough. Replacement test strips are expensive at £28.99 compared to buying the whole kit but have got some with a voucher discount (valid till 09/01/22) of £17.Overall found easy to use and large clear display for results, would highly recommend.

Hit or miss
Bought this for my dog who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. It’s easy to use but the lanclets and the device used to take blood seem pretty useless. My dog is like a pin cushion before I manage to get any blood. The “trigger” is on the strongest setting but despite using in various locations on my dog I keep getting a”Lo” reading which I believe is totally inaccurate. I’ve used almost all strips and lancelets with only one successful reading.

Definitely fit for purpose
Definitely fit for purpose. My cat is diabetic and needs twice daily ear prick tests. This little machine is easy to set up, and the test strips are really good. Individually wrapped makes it easy to keep them from being contaminated in a little pot unlike the brand we have had to change from. This is much cheaper too machine and especially the strips.

Avoid for newly diagnosed diabetic dogs!!
Upon reading the reviews prior to ordering they seemed very hit and miss. It seemed like the system worked better for cats? But there were a couple of positive reviews for dogs also, so thought why not give it a go as I’d love to monitor my newly diagnosed diabetic dog from home. As advised by the vet blood sugars can be more reliable from home as pets are more at ease at home whereas they’re hyper/anxious when in the vets.First try was an absolute fail. The lancets seem cheap, not very good value for the price at all. The actual lancet device that produces the scratch hardly does anything to the dog to cause a blood spot even on highest setting?!I feel like the strips require far too much blood!! Dogs are going to be distressed after having just been pricked by a sharp needle by their trusted owner. You’d imagine a device like this could work off a smaller drop of blood to avoid having to squeeze/wait for a larger drop of blood before you can get a reading. Each time I’ve tried to get a reading I’ve gotten an E-5. Even after doing a control test strip, still gotten an E-5. Seen another review that stated this. This is such an expensive piece of kit that I’d imagine a lot of worried pet owners will run to once their loved pets are newly diagnosed as diabetic. My advice would be - SHOP AROUND!! I do not believe this to be reliable or worth the money at all.
