Not a sotener but massive reduction in limescale
We have been using these filters for 10 years and are really pleased with the effect. The filter does not actually remove calcium as it would either need very frequent changes (ion exchange units) or require salt based regeneration (softeners). However it does stop the limescale building up on tiles, sinks and surfaces so it does the job perfectly - you can wipe any stains off with an e-cloth rather than needing Viakal or similar. Plus you can drink the water without taking up unhealthy levels of sodium as you would with a salt regeneration type softener. Water is very hard in our part of Somerset and lasts for around 200 cubic metres. Highly recommended.

Used this for several years now and it does work
I live in London and the water here is incredibly hard. Suffered with terrible limescale problems.After using this filter it has made a huge difference. The filters are expensive but they DO work(through TAC). This is not a water softener - does not add anything into the the water supply. No need for salt.Fairly easy to install.

Unimpressed and no longer available.
Bought and installed the original EcoPlus system only a couple years ago. Not entirely sure if this actually made much difference, but trying to replace this and now this '2nd Pod' filter is rarer than unicorn tears. AVOID EcoPlus.. feels more like a scam if they refuse to support their customers.
