Sharp from end to end
I don't know why its consider a kit lens, because it is sharp wide open, and focus is quick and quiet it has a very nice aperture ring as well as a zoom ring which is firm. And it being weather sealed as well. I remember 20 years ago kit lenses were made poorly.

Excellent portable Fuji zoom
Excellent, sharp image quality (for serious hobbyist, non pro). Useful focal length range, light and compact compared to full frame zoom. Usable aperture range for every day carry, street photography, or travel. Works great on my 40 mp XT5 and I pixel peep. A keeper.

Great for travel.
This is just such a great travel lense. Wide enough and narrow enough for most applications, and its so light weight. Fits great on all my fuji cameras, even my XE3 without being too front heavy. Ditched my other zoom lenses for this, and loving it.

Superb lens
Smaller, lighter, sharper than its predecessor! Not metal anymore, but top quality, heavy duty plastic construction. No more image stabilization, but that's OK as latest Fuji bodies have IBIS.Compared to Fuji primes (23mm 1.4) it is incredibly close. Wow! Small, light, internal zoom, and inexpensive. A definite keeper!
