Overpriced cutter
When my Bosch GDC 121 stopped working exactly one month after the warranty period ended, I decided to try my luck with Makita. When paid 1000 rupees more than the GDC 121 for Makita M4101, I expected quality. But this one is not very different from the Bosch.Like the Bosch, it is also made of glass filled Nylon. The gear housing is die casted aluminum. The rotor is epoxied and balanced to increase durability and reduce vibrations. The field windings are not epoxy coated. The metallic paint used on the gear housing is not of very good quality. As you can see in the pictures, it started darkening out after the very first cut. The bearings used on this tool are from CHL which is a Chinese company. The switch is also not from a name brand. There is no overload protection or protection against dust regression on this tool. Try not to overload the it while cutting. This is how I lost my Bosch cutter.Makita comes with water feeder feature to do wet cutting. This is the only difference I see between it and the Bosch.
