It filters the water, tells you where your filtration level is, so you know when you replace the filters, and it also gives you hot and cold water filtration.You have 8 preset functions which makes it easy to pick your temperature level.My favorite feature is the lock button, which locks the screen once you choose the hottest temperature level.This is like a child-proof feature you didn't know you needed.It also gives you size levels, between 4-8-16 and Max levels.Whether you need a little bit of water or a whole lot, for let's say cooking, you have that option.Another great feature is how large the tank is. It means you do not need to change the water tank that often.When dispensing cold water, the light turns blue.When dispensing hot water, it the light turns red.The screen also goes blank when not in use, which I believe helps save on electricity.The only gripe I have is that it can be a bit noisy when not in use.Update: I spoke with them and they told me to turn the cold function off and it would reduce the noise and it did!
