I’ve been searching for “the perfect” portable, magnetic iPhone battery for months, and like other ESR products I’ve tried, this portable charger checks almost all of the boxes.It came nicely packaged, which doesn’t necessarily influence my rating, but is still a plus. I shop enough on Amazon that I can appreciate when a company packages an item in a way that I can tell it hasn’t been previously tampered with or used.My main focus was on finding a portable, magnetic (cable free) battery that wasn’t so heavy or bulky it made my phone unusable while charging. The ESR battery definitely has some weight to it; it’s heavier than my iPhone 12 mini, but even while attached to my phone, I find it comfortable to use with one or both hands for texting and scrolling.Battery life is phenomenal. After fully charging, which didn’t take long plugged into the same charger I use for my MacBook, I used this charger for 3 days while at a conference draining my battery with phone calls, email and web searches, etc. all while fighting through intermittent WiFi and data reception.One thing I didn’t care about when searching for a magnetic charger was a kickstand, but this quickly became one of my favorite features. My connecting flight was a small plane without a place to hold my phone on the back of the seat while watching videos, so I was able to use the kickstand to prop my phone up on the seat tray instead. Usually I’ll end up having to hold my phone and look down at it throughout the entire flight in this situation. It was also useful while charging my phone in the hotel at night instead of laying it flat on the bedside table plugged into a lamp.If there’s one thing this charger is missing, it’s a travel case. Definitely not a deal breaker, and much like the packaging it arrived in, doesn’t influence my rating, but having a travel case would make safe storage of the charger while not in use that much more convenient. Until a find a separate case I can purchase, I store this in the free pocket of the case I use for my external hard drive.Overall, this portable magnetic charger has all of my “must haves” and additional features that now I couldn’t go without. I would definitely recommend and purchase again.

Pros:+Smaller than iPhone frame.+Ergonomic shape.+Doesn't obstruct camera lens/show up in photos.+Very high magnetic strength.+Charges very quickly.+USB-C charging port can also be used to charge other devices.+Charging port located on side of powerbank.Cons:-Capacity is not enough to fully charge phone.-Cannot charge more than one device at a time.The best feature of this powerbank is its size. The dimensions are smaller than the outside dimensions of the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14, allowing me to use the magsafe capability of this powerbank without the powerbank hanging over any of the edges of the phone itself.As you can see from the photos, the powerbank even fits inside a Rhinoshield bumper case. It also is small enough that it does not show up in photos, and the sloped design feels comfortable when attached to the phone and in my hand.Another feature is the strength of the magsafe connection. It is very strong. So strong, in fact, that I can hold the phone upside down just by holding on to the powerbank itself.Lastly, the location of the charging port allows the powerbank to charge a phone while it is simultaneously being used as a stand. This was a welcome discovery for video calls from my desk.One limitation of the powerbank is that it cannot charge wirelessly and via the cable at the same time. Though this is not a big deal because of the limited capacity of the powerbank.The charge capacity has been plenty for me, and it charges very quickly, nearly identical in speed to wall charging. I suspect anyone who is low on charge and cannot put their phone down to charge until later the same day will also be well-served by this powerbank. However, if I was staying overnight somewhere without a charger, I would probably opt for the larger 10,000 mAh version of this powerbank.In summary, this powerbank has been perfect for my use when out and about and unable to charge my phone otherwise, and I would not hesitate to buy it again or recommend it to someone else. Having purchased both the larger 10k mAh ESR Halolock powerbank and this mini version, I very much prefer the mini version because of the smaller dimensions and light weight. Thanks for reading!
