Something new for me to try...
This was an interesting experiment, as it was my first time trying and even hearing about makgeolli, and was more curious to try due to the benefits it states to provide, and plenty protein in here too. Very easy to mix (just by adding 1.5 liters/a little over 6 cups of water into the pouch) then shake it 2 to 3 times, leave the lid slightly open and ferment in a warm place for 48 hrs, after that you refrigerate to drink cool. It wasn't my favorite thing to try, but I mainly tried it several times for the healthy benefits.

Fun and interesting
This was a super easy way to make Makgeolli. All you need is water and a bit of time, just a few days. I didn't realize how easy it was and I had a lot of fun. I've had Makgeolli before so I knew what to expect. This ended up being slightly more sweeter than what I'm used to but still good. If you haven't had this before, the closest thing I can think of is sake.

Unique fermented drink
While I am very familiar with Japanese sake and sochu and Korean soju, I have never had makgeolli before. After trying it, it reminds me of nigori sake. This DIY makgeolli kit could not be easier to make. Add water and let it sit in a warm area for 2 days, refrigerate and then enjoy. I could tell the fermentation process was working properly because the bag puffed up after a day or so.After I let it ferment at room temp for the recommended time, I put it in the fridge overnight. When I tried it, the first thing I noticed was the effervescence. It has a a very light bubble to it that dances on your tongue. The next thing I noticed was the texture. It was viscous and has texture which isn't a bad thing if you are expecting it. This drink was a lot sweeter than I expected and when I looked at the ingredients more closely, I saw that this contains Stevia. I think this would have been much better and more natural tasting if it just had sugar. The Stevia not only makes it too sweet for my palate but it also has an aftertaste. It is important to make sure the cap is closed and give the bag a couple of firm shakes to mix the liquid with the solid ingredients before serving.Overall, this could not have been easier to make. While it was a fun experiment and I am glad to have tried it, I am not a huge fan of the cloying sweetness or the aftertaste of this drink. Lose the Stevia and this would be a delight.

This Actually Is Something Rather Nice
So this is my first time making or even trying makgeolli. But I am very open to trying new things, so I ordered this when it became listed for me.I am very familiar with different fermentations. We make our own yoghurt twice a week, and we also make our own kimchi, kefir, and many different pickles. This was an unknown product, but I was up to the challenge. It was relatively easy to make. Just add 1.5 liters of water, shake well, and put somewhere warm for 48 hours. The put in fridge and enjoy. To ensure that the temperature stayed consistently between 77-86 F they recommend, I put the bag in a plastic tub with a lid, and put a cat bed heater in it, which kept it perfectly in the range. And then it was time to drink. It was good, a little sour, a little sweet, and overall tasty. It needs to be shaken before each serving is poured, as it tends to separate somewhat. It seems to have a little alcohol created with the fermentation, but at a very low level.Reading up on makgeolli, I found that is is packed with probiotics (like most fermented products are,) so this is actually good for us.An easy home kit to make makgeolli at home. We like.

Easy to Make
This is kit is easy to make, it's pretty much add water, shake and wait. The hardest part of it is getting the water into the pouch since the opening is small. The fermentation part of it takes about 48 hours. Once this is completed chill and drink. It does have stevia as a disclaimer.

Easy to make
This is an easy to make makegolli kit which is a traditional Korean alcoholic drink. It is fermented so you do need to let it rest for 48 hours before consuming, but very easy otherwise as you only need to add water and then let the powdered mixture ferment and do its thing. The bag is sturdy and while it was fermenting it did not make my house smell gross. Taste wise it is slightly sweet.

Easy to Make, but the Stevia Aftertaste Ruined it For Me
The Kimchi Sunseng Easy DIY Makgeolli Kit is an okay option if you want an easy to make makgeolli and don't mind the aftertaste of stevia in the blend. To make, simply add water, allow the makgeolli to sit for 2 days in a relatively warm spot to ferment, and then refrigerate to enjoy when chilled. The makgeolli tasted fine, except after drinking, the telltale aftertaste of stevia kinda ruined it for our family. The flavor just wouldn't go away. It would've been preferred to have this kit use sugar instead, but it is what it is. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring ourselves to finish the bag so it ended up fertilizing our plant outside. Overall, if you don't mind the flavor of stevia, this may be a makgeolli worth trying.
