Q: I live in a rented house, will it damage the door surfaces if I apply it to them?

Yes. I removed this when I got a new door and it left a horrible stick residue behind. The only way to get it off was to scrape it off and then repaint.

If the gap is between the glass and the frame then you need to consult a reputable double-glazing and UPVC fitting company. This will not effectively fill a gap between frames. If the gap is between an opening D.G. window or door and it's frame. then it is possible you can work a solution with this strip. I used it to replace perished rubber seal on a UPVC porch door and it seems to have improved matters. There is no longer a cold draught entering around the edges of the door. It is essential to remove all of the old seal, and it's adhesive from the door or window surround, before attempting to apply the new seal. otherwise it will probably fall off within a few weeks. Wipe the surface which is to receive the seal with methylated spirits to ensure that all grease and dust is removed. Peel off a short length of the protective film from the adhesive side of the strip - do NOT cut it off at this stage- and apply the adhesive side of the strip to the beginning of the frame. Once in place, peel a bit more film from the strip, pressing the exposed adhesive onto the frame. Proceed like this along the run, until you reach the end of the run. At this point, cut off the discarded film and cut the strip neatly to the end of the run. Repeat this for the other edges of the window frame. GB
