This expansion includes a U-Wing and X-Wing starfighter, featuring pilots and abilities not found in other expansions (to my knowledge). It includes the cards and pieces for both First and Second Edition, meaning there's no need for any of the conversion kits to integrate these into your fleet.I purchased this after a friend and fellow X-Wing player recommended I pick up a U-Wing for my fleet. The U-Wing expansion, to my knowledge, is only available for the First Edition, and I play the Second Edition. Personally, I use the included Kullbee Sperado as one of my go-to pilots for his maneuverability and illicit upgrade slot. I used the U-Wing a couple times and couldn't get the hang of it. Maybe I will some day, with patience.My only complaint is that it doesn't have all the pilot cards for either ship; it's meant to serve as an expansion for a larger game. Also, the X-Wing fighter I got is just a bit defective, and the s-foils don't open all the way, but it matters not to me. A little rule-tweaking to compensate for manufacturing error never hurt anyone, right?

Love the details and paint scheme on both ships. There are both the 1.0 & 2.0 contents included in this expansion and packaged separately in the box, so you don’t have to try to figure out which is which, if you’re not too familiar with the game. There’s also the medium base included for the 2.0 version (in 1st Edition, the U-Wing is considered a large base ship and in 2nd Edition, it’s a medium base ship).The U-Wing is perfect and it’s S-foils sweep back and forwards smoothly. The X-Wing on the other hand is problematic, as its S-foils are gummed up and are hard to open, doesn’t remain so and closes on its own. As stated by others, there are ways to clean it up so they open and close smoothly, but my particular X-Wing is not cooperating and refuses to come apart. So as to not damage or break it, I’m leaving it as is, for now. Additionally, I believe there is some misprints in the 2nd Edition cards that come with this set. I haven’t figured out which cards yet, but I believe it has to do with the open and closed positions of the S-foils. Besides that, excellent addition to my Rebel Squadrons!

I'm totally going to buy a second set. The u-wing is versatile and the 0 move rotate offers some really unusual strategies. The x-wing pilots have an illicit slot, something not otherwise available to Rebels and the three named pilots have nice bonus movments to make them hard to catch. Two boxes of this set look to be a pretty solid stand alone list for a beginner. The paint scheme is really nice and distinct, especially compared to other re-paints.The downside: The X-wing is full of silicone glue that keeps the s-foils from working. There are videos online with instructions to open it up, clean it, and glue it, but be warned the unit is tiny and you have to xacto knife it apart. I am not so confident in doing that and am looking for a friend to help.

I really liked this pack because it includes 2.0 components and is an amazing deal for two ships. If you’re like me and just getting into the game, jumping into the Rebels is super easy with this expansion. Not to mention, these X-wing pilots can hold illicit upgrades which just makes it a party… (cough cough Contraband Cybernetics cough cough)

Set comes with both 1.0 and 2.0. So no upgrade needed. Love the paint job on both units. They are my favorite pair of ships I like to fly now. The U-wing can defiantly take the fight to the Empire.

This expansion set helped make the T-65 X-wing competitive again. I have had terrible luck with secondary weapons and the X-wing was previously lacking in maneuverability options. But with this expansion you can use the secondary weapon slot as a way to give the X-wing two different modification cards. I usually ran a X-wing with Integrated astromech and Flight Assist Astromech and Servomotor S-foils card. Now I can get right in the face of my enemy and not worry about being outmaneuvered as bad.
