My truck runs GREAT again!
It fits 2006 F-350 Powerstroke 6.0 diesel perfectly. It came with ALL of the bolts, orings, and a new gasket for the top of the Oil Supply Line. It is NEW, not remanufactured. What a difference it made in the performance of my truck. It shifts better, runs better and accelerates smoothly again, without over or under-boosting codes being thrown. Best of all, it was 400 bucks cheaper than my local parts/repair shop quoted me, and it was delivered to my front door, double boxed in sprayed foam with all of the orifices blocked with caps and in its own plastic bag.

Fits and works pefectly
The turbo was shipped right away. Arrived in good condition. Turbo was new and well packaged and came with the complete hardware kit to install it.No issues installing it and it works as expected. It feels great to have the turbo back to 100% and no more error codes for turbo underboost.

Quick delivery, well packaged
Arrived in 3 days and was well packaged. All hardware needed was included. Replaced a locked up original turbo with 220k miles. Truck sounds great and runs like new. Well worth the cost.

Very happy. Read my lessons learned!
My truck has been smoking more than a smoker on the 4th of July. After quite a bit of investigation (talking to mechanics, Google, etc.) I was somewhat sure that my turbo seals were going out, leaking oil into the exhaust. I am not a mechanic by trade, but I am also not afraid to try auto repairs, and this one seemed pretty straight forward, aka plug-and-play.While the repair went pretty smoothly (and fixing a few other things along the way), I did spend 7-8 hours on this. Better than paying a total of $500 more for my mechanic to buy the part and do the repair. This video is crucial to a successful swap, if you are untrained like me: [....]Here are a few things I learned:- Don't buy the hardware kit, "Ford, HARDWARE Kit, 3C3Z-9T514-AG", as this turbo includes everything you need.- You can use petroleum jelly (vaseline) on your o-rings, once installed on the tubes, to help them slide into place- Watch the video! And then, watch it again while you work.- The video suggests loosening the turbo stand (4 bolts) to help get things aligned. I think if I had to do this again I would try and skip this step. Tightening those bolts after your turbo is installed is a big PITA.- Make sure you re-install your oil downspout BEFORE mounting/bolting your turbo into place, or you will have to remove the turbo and start over (don't ask me how I know this).- My turbo came with some instructions to prime the compressor before attaching the air intake lines. Do this! Before installing the oil feed line, but after mounting the turbo, fill the small oil intake hole on the turbo with clean engine oil. Allow the oil level to drop and then refill. Spin the turbo fan with your fingers several times. Refill the oil in the turbo and repeat (I did this a few times just to be safe). I used a small paper cup with about 1/4 full of oil the to fill this.- I spent more time fishing out dropped sockets and extenders than I did reinstalling the turbo.- Don't overtighten the turbo v-clamps. They are $16 each and I have a new one coming. :-( I would suggest using your driver to get them so far and then do the rest by hand. They don't react well to too much from a Dewalt mini impact.- In the video he shows some caps for the Degas bottle. I just used a zip-tie and kinked the small hoses once disconnected. I left the upper hose attached to the degas bottle and attached it to the lower outlet on the degas bottle. No leaks!- Disconnect the negative from (both) battery.- I found it helpful to remove the oil fill cap- Probably the trickiest part to put back on was the large air intake line from air filter box to turbo. I ended up getting it in in sections, by starting it upside down and then spinning it in its housing.- Make sure you double check everything before starting truck, and then allow your truck to run at idle for 5 minutes before driving to allow oil to flow through the turbo.- I wish I had taken before pictures of everything i was going to disassemble BEFORE starting. I got it all back together with no problems, but the before pictures would have been convenient in seeing a few alignment things, etc.

Brand new oem, the only way to go
My turbo arrived on time and in great shape. Directly bolted in and works perfectly. I was thinking about a rebuild for less, but definitely glad I bought new. All new parts including the actuator solenoid. Would buy again for another truck.

Making a noise it shouldn't.
Gave the truck great power but turbo is making a noise. Talked to the company and tried to narrow the trouble. Took it to a diesel shop and they agreed it wasn't right. We are returning the part. A lot of work tearing engine apart to replace the part to have to do it all over again to return it.

Customer Service is important
They say you can learn a lot about a company when things go south. My pickup truck had a worn out turbocharger. I chose to buy a new one instead of a rebuild or remanufactured. I received it quickly, and went to install it. The turbo shaft was unable to turn at all, right out of the box. The cold side impeller was rubbing against the housing, not sure why, but it was not useable.I contacted Emily at Thorougbred Diesel, and she asked for some photos of the new turbo that she could share with Garrett - the manufacturer. Emily and Vince shipped out a replacement the same day, and shipped overnight freight to minimize my wait. Sure enough, I got it the next day and got my truck running hours later. In spite of the problem, I will use Thoroughbred again, because I know I can count on them when the chips are down.
