looks brand new, replaced my 2007 fj cruiser alternator with this
bought this rebuilt alternator from Denso because Denso is OEM for Toyota. For cars, I like the most reliability and for FJ Cruisers, this means it has to be reliable in snow, desert, mud, etc, so it was worth the few bucks more to get this quality unit. I threw it in, and it worked great right out of the box. And if you are changing this, buy an extra 14mm alternator bolt from the dealer. The lower 14mm bolt that holds the alternator in will be torqued to the point it needs a large breaker bar and 6pt socket to minimize any stripping of the bolt head to get out. I still managed to tweak the lower bolt head quite a bit before it came off, so ordering one for 2.24 is cheap insurance when reinstalling this unit. anyways, 5 stars, looks quality, cars running great, will update lower if I run into problems later.

it is a good replacement for the OEM
It looks good, and works, not sure how long it will last, but it solved my noise alternator bearing issue.

Whine gone!! Perfect fit
First let me say I didn't realize this was a reman unit. I really wanted a new one but hey it's Denso so it should last.So one day I cranked the FJ and it had a weird whine at idle that would increase with rpms. I had power loss and mpg loss for a week while trying to figure out what was wrong. I looked on a couple forums and there were a few ppl that said bad alternator and others said oil pump tranny power steering pump etc. So I went with the cheapest option and went to 2 autozones and had them test the charging system and both places came out bad alternator. So I ordered this unit and a new belt and whine is gone and all is back to normal.2008 FJ - 103k

Failed 30 seconds after installation
Failed about 30 seconds after installation. After that, it failed to regulate at the right voltage (13.8 to 14.2) below 1500RPM even after the battery was fully charged. Would bounce between 13 and 13.6V. Ammeter confirmed charging pulsed between negative and about 15A. Packaging and labels was all Denso.Ordered and installed the same item from Rock Auto and it worked fine, and stayed working fine.

Works great!
Works great! For a reman alternator it looks like brand new. Bolted right up for my 2007 toyota fj cruiser.

Just like the OEM
Exact form and fit and function Just like the OEM Denso alternator that came with my FJ. I read a review that someone added some spacers to the bottom bracket - not needed! once you tighten the bottom bolt the bottom U bracket will close in and fit perfectly.

Denso alternator
Alternator was exactly as advertised. Installing the new alternator was easier than taking the OEM out.

Purchased this alternator because it was a Denso just like the OE one that came on it
Purchased this alternator because it was a Denso just like the OE one that came on it. The dealership only sells Denso remanufactured alternators also. You can't buy this alternator new. So I figured the brand name Denso would be my best bet. I paid extra to get here in 1 day because my original one was making noise at 115,000 miles. I installed it as soon as it arrived only to find out it worked for exactly 5 minutes before it completely died and stopped putting out voltage completely. I ended up having to go to my local auto parts store to buy one. Be very cautious when buying a remanufactured alternator. You would be much better off having your original rebuilt with good parts at a local shop than one of these pieces of junk or a chinese knock off. Its a shame Toyota no longer sells new ones.
