New and Perfect
I was a little concerned about ordering this computer because several reviews noted that no computer arrived, only empty boxes. However, I believe this is due to unscrupulous people at the shipping company. Mine was shipped by FedEx. It arrived on time and in perfect shape. The computer is well packaged. The computer and its charger were in plastic. The Lenovo box was sealed and new. That box was inside another undamaged shipping box. There was a thin, soft shield between the keyboard and the screen for protection. I opened the computer and it turned itself on. Right now it is charging and not in use. I expect it will be a great computer.

False Advertising on System Components
This is false advertising. It claims a 1 TB SSD, but when I got the computer it was unbelievably, unusably slow. I called Lenovo directly and gave them the serial number and they explained that this computer's hardware could in no way support a 1 TB SSD. I'm not sure how this is allowed.

One of the best laptops for the money, except Wibdows in S-mode.
Pretty good and affordable laptop. Everything works well, does job done, the only one disadvantage is it has Windows S installed instead of just regular Windows Home, it is not very good, it makes that laptop faster and safer, but you can only install programs from official Microsoft store on it.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!
This is an old model is the idea pad series 1, it’s been modified, just got mine in the mail today, packaging was opened inside the shipping box, screws have been tampered with and it’s original price is not 1400 dollars. This listing fails to provide the model number or type of Lenovo laptop. It’s priced cheaper than what you’re buying it for here on Amazon at Walmart.

Too slow. The S145-15IWL is a much faster unit (with an SSD upgrade) for the same price.
We are a retail store. We bought a few of these units with the tiny 128GB SSD in them and put them thru their paces. Now, we've been testing a lot of Windows 10 SSD machines lately and this one is by far the slowest I've come across when it comes to bootup and shutdown times. Lenovo has some amazing SSD units - like the S340-15IIL Core i7 that can boot up to desktop/online in 7 seconds flat. Many of our SSD units can boot up and be online in 10-12 seconds. But this unit, with the exact same software load takes 30 SECONDS to get up and online! We've tested two of these units and they both suffer from the same issue. All units we test have the same software load with Windows fully updated to Rev 1909 and all updates installed, plus a canned app pkg we put on them (basic stuff like Adobe Reader and Google Chrome browser). Also, shutdown time is unimpressive at 16 seconds when our other units are doing 6-10 seconds, for the most part. If you don't have to have an internal DVD drive (the one redeeming quality of this unit) , your money is much better spent on the Lenovo S145-15IWL, which is very similar in style, has a Pentium "Gold" Quad-Core CPU, 4GB RAM and a traditional 500GB drive. Even with the slow HD, this unit boots up in 25s and shuts down in 12...BUT if you install a 256GB M.2 SSD in the unit alongside the 500GB and move the software to the SSD, you get 12 second boot-ups and 8 second shutdowns. And the S145 PLUS the M.2 drive is about the same price as this unit. You'll have a CPU that's 50% faster than the sluggish A9 (per passmark scores) and 6 times as much drive storage space. That's worth spending $20 for an external DVD, my friends. Bottom line, pass on this unit and get the S145. The M.2 slot requires PCIe NVME drives and requires disassembly (removal of bottom cover) to access, so this is not a simple upgrade. Also cloning the drive requires some decent software -I recommend EaseUS Todo Free's "emergency disk" that you can boot from and clone drives easily with.
