Yamaha YCL-650 Professional Bb Clarinet with Silver-plated Keys

Solid, great sound!

I ordered the Yamaha YCL-650 clarinet based on Amazon reviews and have been ecstatic with my choice. The original estimated delivery date seemed extended and, on inquiry, I was told the instrument had already been shipped from Japan. It arrived in the most beautiful packaging a mere several days later. It was wrapped like a priceless antique and the instrument inside was equally a treasure. It is so lovely that I look forward to practicing each evening and anticipate many years of dedication to justify its craftsmanship.

I really like the responsiveness and sound in the upper half, but found the adjustable thumb rest uncomfortable. So I use the top half with my buffet crampon bottom half and it is very good. I still love the fullness of the lower tones on the Buffet. So the best of both worlds.I use my old Selmer mouthpiece with it as the one that came with it was not as comfortable. Overall, good value for the money.

What a beautiful instrument. I hadn't played in years, but bought this for a hobby during quarantine, and the sound is amazing. If it sounds this good for me; I can't imagine how nicely it would play for a professional.

This clarinet meets all expectations. Fingering is good, tone quality is great. I have no complaints.

Beautiful instrument. Had to make adjustments to some of the corks in the key work to get a proper seal. I'd give it 5 stars if it had been ready to go out of the box.

My son can now hit the notes that he cannot before; the clarinet has a very nice sound. I always ask him to play in this clarinet because I like the sound that comes out from it.
